TW: angst lots of angst. Somewhat Detailed Self-harm and attempts at suicide (s/c: skin colour)

Lately, things have been difficult for you. You were sitting in your Transfiguration class as Professor McGonagall was handing out back your exams. She dropped the piece of paper on your table and spoke out raspy "I expected more from you miss y/l/n" you looked at your exam to realize you had completed failed your exam by 35 percent. You sighed, placing your elbows on the table and running your fingers through your hair. You hadn't known what was going on but you'd haven't been able to focus at all making it stressful for you.

George, sitting next to you noticed you in 'distress' or anguish "y/n are you alright?" You looked over your shoulder facing George. Really you didn't know if you were okay or not. "I'm okay I guess" you lied, your eyes were stuck on the number and you felt awful. Your grades have never been this bad but you've been stressed out lately. Your friends haven't spoken to you, you were feeling distracted and you haven't had anyone to talk to about anything. The only person who had been speaking to you was George, you didn't know why everyone was ignoring you and it bothered you.

After that George didn't say anything else at least you assumed so. Everything was muffled and your thoughts were filled with neglect. You mostly thought about 'is this all worth it?' 'Does anyone even care?' 'Am I even worth people's time?' nothing had seemed fair to you anymore or even worth waking upright in the morning. But your thoughts made the time pass faster than ever. Before you knew it class was over. Everyone arisen from their tables, taking their book bags and exiting the class.

You watched everyone leave but still seeing George sitting there. You looked at him groaning "can I help you or are you just gonna stare at me like that forever?" His cheeks blew up roundly, roughly sighing then getting up from his spot and shrugging "sorry... just worried that's all. I'll see you at dinner" right dinner. No way you were going to dinner. You hadn't been eating at all either only occasionally when you didn't have so much of a choice. You stood up from your chair, walking out and going about to your common room.

You entered your dorm room, locking the door and placing your book bag down. No one else was there, thankfully? You walked to your desk seeing a letter written to you. It didn't have a name only yours. You rose the letter of the desk, staring at it before ripping it open. You opened the envelope and then took the sheet of paper out of it. It read;

Dear, Y/N
It's dad, I have some bad news... Your mother got into a situation where she couldn't do anything nor could I... As you and I have been seeing these last years, your mother hasn't been able to be herself anymore. I woke up this morning finding her body in the bathroom, sweetie she overdosed, she also slit her wrist... she left a letter for you, I couldn't bear to send it to you. Her blood on the paper and what she said I just couldn't... sweetie you can come home if you want just owl back to me.
  ~love dad

Your eyes began to water and a single tear running down your cheek and then dropping down onto the piece of paper. First, your friends ignoring you, your grades being horrible, your constant overthinking and now this? You broke into pieces. You wanted to cry, scream or both but nothing came out. Your hands started to shake, you threw the letter out then to walk towards your bed, laying down and then sobbing into your pillow. You were sobbing hard, and it didn't stop. You didn't know why'd this have to happen to you. You wished you could help your mom all the time but she was too damaged.

Realizing what she was like made you think 'am I like her?' You always had your mother's traits and ever since her first manic episode when you were thirteen where she ended up drinking herself into a coma and when waking up trying to hurt herself, and after that, you knew or would've supposedly thought that she might've been bipolar. Your family was filled with bipolar but you never expected it to even come towards you or harm your mental health. But with you just breaking down all of a sudden that could've been it. You didn't know what was wrong, you didn't know what was happening, you didn't have control so this had to be an episode.
