✧・゚: Chapter 28 - Good For You*:・゚✧

9th of January 1761

Y/N's POV

"Mother-" I chuckled as I held a full glass to her lips, helping her take as sip from the glass, before slowly laying her down into the bed as carefully as I could. I sat at the foot of the bed as she smiled lightly.

The room she lay in was bright, the window sat slightly ajar as the sound of the mid-morning birds singing reached my ears. My mother lay comfortably in her bed, propped upright by some throw cushions George had helped her place earlier that morning, during my desperate attempt to get her to eat, to no avail.

Aoibhinn had changed the bedding without my knowing this morning, as I cared for the horses, however, she paid little attention to my scolding. The room felt cleaner, lighter and I was so glad that my mother's hysteria had finally settled a little with some medication from the doctor.

"How's your majesty?" She whispers, her voice cracking as I smiled softly, placing my hands in my lap, my gaze following.

"He's fine, I hope." I grimaced lightly as a dry chuckle left my lips, my gaze remaining firmly on my lap as I balled my skirt up in my hands, the fabric creasing under the pressure. I felt my mother let out a shaky exhale.

"No, dear. I mean Windsor." I cocked my head lightly my eyes meeting with my mother's. For the first time in a while, I saw a hint of her old self. I chuckled lightly.

"Oh, well, it was very lovely mother." I watched as she nodded willing me to continue. I remembered the Christmas ball, how caring George had been, how much of a lovely host he was. As I felt a small smile cross my lips as my gaze fell to my lap, a blush rising on my cheeks.

"C-come on, dear." My mum whispered impatiently as I rolled my eyes slightly chuckling. I ran my fingers through my wavy, H/C, hair, pushing the stray strands out of my eyes.

"Well mother, the castle was magnificent." I breathed lightly, my chest falling as I chuckled.

"George even held a Christmas ball; I have never seen anything like it mother. I had a dress, and I walked down a grand staircase with George. I attempted to dance." I giggled lightly placing my hand over my mouth as my mother let out a breathy laugh.

"The dancing. Well, it didn't go so well." I shook my head lightly, the strands I had fixed earlier falling back into my eyes.

George's POV

"He was a friend of the doctors. It was my mistake." Samuel shook his head lightly into the palm of his hand, as I smiled sympathetically.

Samuel had obviously been stressing throughout the day, relaying information from soldiers stationed at the trespassers holding cell. Both Samuel and I were aware of the fact the doctor had told at least one person.
