✧・゚: Chapter 39 - Take me Home- *:・゚✧
18th of January 1761
Y/N's POV
My limp body is draped over George's arms, I sway with each even, calculated step he takes, through the vaguely familiar hallways of Windsor castle.
The dim lit corridors were quiet, few people wandering them. It was late at night, too late for anybody who didn't have duties to be awake. My gaze falls upon a posted guard as we make our way past him, he bows respectfully to the king.
I turn my gaze to George.
"George, no-" I whisper my voice hoarse and tired.
"My love, you need sleep, you need time to settle." I shook my head as George gazed down at me. His gaze was caring, but to me it was unsettling. I reached up pulling the blanket over the bottom half of my face, George offering me a small smile.
My eyes struggle to focus on Samuel's fuzzy figure walking ahead of both George and I, he seems extremely focused, thoughtful, even. He walks at a brisk pace leading us to an unfamiliar wing of the castle.
"Your majesty- Aoibhinn has a room in the private quarters prepared." Samuel turned to face George his legs carrying us towards a heavy door on the same smaller hallway as the King's quarters.
I hold my breath as Samuel opens the doors, pushing them wide open and standing aside.
I feel my gaze clear slightly, the sedative wearing off as I'm slowly walked into the room, I turn my gaze upwards staring at George's face as I pulled my arms up to my face, yawning quietly.
I had hoped that should I act tired enough George would leave, allowing me some piece and quiet to rest, alone.
"Tired love?" George chuckled as his step faltered slightly his fingers tracing the back of my cheek, I quickly turn my face to the side, avoiding both him and his touch. He let out a dry, unnerving chuckle.
I'm placed down on a soft, unfamiliar bed. I lie slightly pulling my hands up to my face and rubbing my eyes in an attempt to clear my clouded vision. I prop myself up on my elbows, jumping slightly as my gaze meets George, Oliver and Wilson who are all hovering over my tired frame, closer than expected.
The sound of a door clicking open catches my attention as I stand up, unravelling myself from the blanket and pushing past George and the redcoats. My gaze falls on Aoibhinn walking through the door, her black and white uniform flowing behind her.
"Aoibhinn!" I gasped, she paused, turning to face me. I quickly made my way towards her.
"Mo stó-" She chuckled lightly as I wrap my arms around her waist, pulling her close to me, relishing in the comfort of someone familiar. Someone who hadn't changed.
