10th of January 1761

George's POV

Y/N sat whispering to her mother, telling her stories through breathy laughs and soft sobs. She went through all the stages of her life; her childhood, her brother's death, the loss of her father, and her time at Windsor- that brought a slight smile to my face.

I rose at the sound of a knock at the door, Samuel's familiar rapping. I paced across the floor, leaving Y/N to sit with her mother. I made my way out of the door, turning to face Samuel as we stood in the landing.

"George, we have a slight problem." I sighed slightly, bowing my head as I sharply inhaled nodding for Samuel to continue.

"Well, people have noticed you're not currently at Windsor. The press has been speculating for days and have narrowed down your location. It would appear the doctor may have told more than just his friend also." I rolled my eyes, groaning.

"They are outside, aren't they?" Samuel sheepishly nodded as I quickly composed myself, to make decisions about Y/N's safety.

"I want you to contact the royal guards stationed here immediately, have at least ten patrolling at all times, I want two at both entrances and exits. Oliver will be posted outside of any room Y/N is in at all times." Samuel nodded as I paused giving him time to take all the information in, he nodded making a move to speak.

"Oliver has alerted the royal guards already they should be here very soon. However, sire, I do believe I should make a statement on your behalf." I nodded humming in thought as Samuel proceeded.

"This is a private matter, involving a close friend of King George III, we request that the public respect the wishes of Lady Y/N L/N, and do not gather outside this building. Anybody caught trespassing will be rightfully prosecuted against the crown." Samuel quickly scrawled the words down in a notebook as I nodded.

"That's perfect Sam, thank you." He nodded smiling to himself as I patted him on the shoulder.

"Your majesty, how about Y/N?" Samuel voice reduced to a whisper as I nodded solemnly.

"Her mother won't last the rest of the day, she knows. I want to give her as much space as possible. She's in there babbling on about her whole life, but I'm worried for her." Samuel nodded slightly, sighing.

"I can't imagine-" I smiled solemnly as a sense of grief hung in the air, we were all exhausted, barely functioning. None of us had bathed in at least 4 days, and I had spent a large amount of time by Y/N's side, watching her suffer; and it hurt.

"Samuel, can you get Aoibhinn and Oliver to check up on the horses, they are all in the field so they probably will just need haylage." I watched as Samuel bowed, turning on his heels.
