✧・゚: Chapter 9 - She's Not Safe Here*:・゚✧

18th of December 1760

King George's POV

"She's not safe here, Samuel. I can't break my promise and tell her mother." I sighed as my hands rested on my temples, gently massaging them, the stress getting to me.

My eyes fell over the desk, landing on the crown I had promptly discarded. Leaf's of parchment lay across the desk as Samuel sat opposite me, quill in hand.

"Your majesty." Samuel said softly still scratching the quill against the leafy parchment.

I slowly raised my eye line to meet his as the scratching ceased, urging him to continue.

"I think these ideas are great, but she has the horses, her mother. She has a life here." Seabury smiled sympathetically at me as my forehead creased.

"The solution is simple Seabury; we give her a better life." Samuel nodded slightly looking down at the paper.

I knew he was right; I knew Y/N would not leave her life here in Ireland, especially not as soon as tonight.

"Seabury, I have a plan –"

Y/N's POV

My shoulder ached as I made my way towards the stables to spend some time with the horses.

My mother was pottering about the yard, humming softly to herself as she cleaned the horses stables out, smiling as I walked past her.

I walked over to Apollo's stable smiling as I saw him lay down on the straw bedding. His ears pricked up as he spotted me, I gently unlatched the door making my way into his stable without him getting up. I locked it behind me carefully sitting down beside him.

I breathed in the smell of fresh hay and straw. I was already missing helping at the stables. I guess George's visit had me busy. I felt guilty, my mother had been busy working double the amount of work she normally would. Though I knew she would not mind, I felt mean asking all the extra work of her.

I remembered the events of this morning, of George in my room. I felt a heat rise in my cheeks; I was embarrassed. The past few days had been strange, chaotic almost. Making George aware of my issues made me extremely uncomfortable, and I was contemplating whether that was a good thing or not. However, I could not help feeling a pang in my heart as I reminded myself of George's departure due tonight.

Sighing, I turned towards Apollo for more comfort, hissing as my shoulder twisted around slightly.

"So much for staying away from the horses for awhile then?" I jumped, causing me to yelp in pain as I yet again, twisted my shoulder to find the source of the voice.

"George..." I breathed, the fright causing my voice to come out as barely a whisper as he cocked an eyebrow at me.

"Y/N..." He repeated in a similar manner, I felt the blood rush to my face, heating it up as I gently shuffled over leaning back onto Apollo who was still lay down on his bedding beside me.

Seeing George again made me anxious, jittery. He was a king, surely him spending time with me is wrong, right?

I gently pat the straw next to me shuffling over again slightly, quietly inviting George to take a seat.

I looked up into his blue eyes that were boring into me with concern and confusion as he slowly made his way towards me, the straw crunching under him as he carefully sat down beside me.

"Quiet today?" He chuckled as he slowly and gently removed his golden crown placing it on his lap as I watched his moves carefully, I sighed.

"I guess." I replied quietly, intently playing with my fingers to avoid awkward conversations.

Apollo gently curled his head round and rested it on my lap, I chuckled at his actions gently rubbing his nose as he snorted gently.

"I have a proposition." George whispered. His tone caught me off-guard, he had been cocky two minutes ago yet now there was a hint of anxiety in his voice which had lowered by multiple decibels.

I looked over towards him nodding gently, coaxing him into continuing his thought. As his eye contact slowly dropped towards the stable floor, his cheeks gently flushing a light shade of pink.

"Come back to England with me." George said quietly his voice laced with nerves and anxiety.

I was taken aback, 'He wants me to go to England, with him?!'

"George, I –" I started as I paused contemplating how to proceed. George's baby blue eyes met mine, filled with nerves as I smiled gently.

"I- don't think I could, I have the hors-" I was cut off quickly by George.

"-the horses and your mum." He sighed gently as his hand rested gently on my lower thigh squeezing it reassuringly.

I nodded slightly, the guilt of having to reject him was nipping at my skin.

"How about a visit, see the royal stables and the castle?" My eyes fell upon George's reading the pleading look in his blue orbs as I sighed gently contemplating his suggestion.

"A visit would be good George."
