"Merlin I can not do this" said Lily pacing around Eloise's room in the Potter manor, her dress hung up on Eloise's wardrobe, whilst Alice and Eloise tried to calm the Potter to be down.
"Yes you can Lily" soothed Eloise "Stop panicking"
"But-what if he changes his mind?-What if he leaves me at the alter?-what if-"
"Lily Jane Evans!" snapped Eloise silencing the red headed girl. "Breathe" she instructed trying to reduce the girls stress. "My brother has fancied you since we were eleven years old, what on earth makes you think that anything has changed now"
"I don't know" she squeaked
"Just go put this bloody dress on" laughed Alice pulling the lacy gown off the wardrobe as she slipped on her own shoes. Alice and Eloise were of course bridesmaids, Eloise being the maid of honour. Alice's dress was a stunning off the shoulder floor length pastel blue dress whereas Eloises despite being the same colour was more figure hogging flaring out at her knees into ruffles only reaching her calves. Both women were the epitome of elegance their hair pulled up into high buns.
The weather was perfect for the summer wedding, Eloise looked out of her window which overlooked the garden seeing the guests arriving and her brother standing at the alter seemingly panicking with Sirius, Remus and Peter trying to calm him down. Eloise saw her parents standing off away from everyone at the side, small proud smiles on their faces and tears in their eyes. Eloise's heart broke at the sight of them, their skin was a sickly green and marked with pocks, they looked like death. They were still of course dressed in their finest dress robes, but that didn't make them look any less ill. It may be selfish to feel, but Eloise was angry at them for not being able to be there for her wedding, oh how desperate she was to have her father walk her down the isle, but it would never happen.
A wedding day is the day that most girls dream of when they are a child, the day their daddy will walk them down and give them a way to be with their Prince Charming til death do they part. The day which would mark the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, the day when they wave goodbye to their childish dreams and make them become reality, but Eloise Potter would never get that experience. Not with her father, the man who made her laugh when she wanted to cry, the man who spoiled his little princess, the man who only loved one woman more than his wife, his daughter. Eloise Potter would never be able to link arms with her father as he told her how proud he was of her, telling her how beautiful she looked in her dress, and congratulating her as she let go of the Potter name swapping it for Black. And Eloise Potter was jealous of her best friend for that, her father was waiting outside the door with her mother, who was already in tears not ready to let her baby go and Eloise wished that she could have that. But today was Lily's day, so Eloise pushed the thoughts to the back of her mind as far as she possibly could before closing the curtain and turning around seeing her red headed best friend come out in her wedding dress.
