Christmas was slowly approaching and the great hall was decorated with tinsel, and bulbuls a huge tree adorned with lights smack bang in the centre front of the great all. Eloise was sat with Davey full with excitement for the holidays.
"Oh I love Christmas!" gushed Eloise "I cant wait for the holidays, oh the food, the decorations, the mistletoe kisses"
Davey chuckled at his girlfriends excitement finding her absolutely adorable "Is that right love?"
"Oh yes! my mum makes the most amazing roast dinner! the turkey is amazing! Oh you simply must come over for Christmas! I know mum and dad would just adore you! Sirius is coming for James so I don't think they'd mind honestly" rambled the girl not noticing the frown that made its way onto the boys face as she mentioned Sirius' name.
"Blacks going to yours for Christmas? Doesn't he have his own family to spend it with?"
"well yes but he's lovely and his family are not, I know you two haven't got a long amazingly recently, cant say I have with him either, but if you put your differences aside im sure you'd get along like a house on fire!"
"You're close then? You and Black I mean.." said Davey with a slightly clenched jaw.
"Yes I- are you jealous?" questioned the girl with a smirk on her lips.
"Me? pshhh noo" said Davey trying to brush the girl off looking anywhere but her eyes.
"Oh but I think you are." smiled the girl leaning in closer to the boy.
"shut up" he said attaching his lips to hers in a soft and delicate kiss, unaware of the four pairs of eyes that the couple currently had on them.
The marauders watched the pair from afar curious looks etched upon their faces.
"They're just so good together." muttered James in disbelief.
"Do you reckon they'll last?" murmured Peter not taking his eyes off the couple.
"I don't see why not" sighed Remus looking at Eloise from afar a huge grin on her face as she looked at Davey.
"I do." said James with a roll of his eyes, noticing that Sirius had not yet said a word yet was staring at the couple intensely-mostly Davey and if looks could kill Davey would be long gone.
"You do what?" queried Remus lolling his head to the side.
"I see a reason that they won't last" this made Sirius' head perk up as he looked at the boy in curiosity wanting him to continue.
"Well? What is it?" questioned Sirius impatiently with wide eyes.
James chuckled at the boy then turning to look at his sister "Look at her" he nodded his head in the couples direction "She's really happy sure. but I know my sister, and she does not see that boy as anything more than a friend"
