NEWTs. The exams that the students of Hogwarts had been practicing for since they were eleven years old. And the marauders and girls were currently preparing to go in their final exam, formally concluding their time at Hogwarts. Potions. After that there would be one last party, and then they would depart from Hogwarts the next day via the boat down to hogsmeade station.
"This feels so surreal" sighed Lily resting her head on James shoulder as they waited to be told to go in for their exam.
"Understatement" remarked Alice "It feels like just yesterday when we were coming to the school on the boats! and now tomorrow we're leaving on them.."
"It's insane" nodded Eloise in agreement "What are we all gonna do?"
"Fight" answered Sirius obviously "You've already got income from your wolfsbane potion, so I doubt you'll even need a job." shrugged the boy in the direction of Eloise as the others hummed in agreement "James and I want to be aurors, and start the training over the summer"
"I can see it now, up in lights. Padfoot and Prongs, the best crime fighters of the century" smirked James cockily waving his hands above his head dramatically.
"I'd like to be a healer" smiled Alice gently "Although Frank has been doing pretty well with his job as an auror right now, it would be nice to work with him too bu-" but before the girl could finish what she was saying the group were approached by none other than Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore who peered over at them through his half moon spectacles.
"Afternoon" he smiled "I've come to speak to you all about..something special"
The group of teens frowned at this not entirely sure what the headmaster wanted but nonetheless they nodded and allowed the man to continue. "Miss Potter, do you remember our conversation last year?"
"Not entirely" shrugged the girl "Something about the sequence of the pelicans or something"
The white haired man chuckled knowingly and nodded his head as he corrected the girl. "Not quite miss Potter." he smiled in amusement "I have come to you all with a proposition. I'd like you to think on it for a while so you are sure of your decision, but..I invite you to join the Order of the Phoenix."
"The order of the what now?" asked a baffled Remus
"Phoenix mister Lupin" smiled the man "Rare creatures indeed, but rather magnificent birds-yes-it is an organisation made up of myself and other wizards who wish to fight against Voldemort in this war."
"Oh!" said Eloise eyes widening in realisation "Yeah I remember!" she smiled "I'll do it" she said with no hesitation. "I want to fight in this war. He's taken so much from so many families already..he has to be stopped" she said glancing around her friends who all seemed just as determined especially James.
