"Potter!" Freddie called as he caught the boy walking out of the great hall with his fellow marauders.
"Alright mate?" greeted James coming to a halt to let the blonde speak, Sirius, Remus and Peter copying his actions.
"Yeah..listen can I ask you a favour? It will only take a few seconds I swear.."
"Yeah go ahead." smiled the messy haired boy
"Whats Eloise's favourite flower?"
James pondered on the thought for a moment "I honestly don't know mate..but if yore gonna get her flowers go with roses..can't ever go wrong with roses."
"Alright tha-"
"Don't give her roses." said Sirius hastily making all eyes turn to him "She thinks they're cliche." he finished "Peonies. Peonies are her favourite flower, coral ones to be more specific, like this." with a flick of his wand Sirius conjured up a single coral peony, showing it to the boy.
"Wow, where did you learn that spell? I don't recall it being taught.." he smiled in awe looking at the flower
"I made it." said Sirius "For her" he smiled handing the boy the flower
"Do you reckon you could write it down for me?" smiled Freddie eagerly
"Course mate..I'll do it later" he gave the boy a tight lipped smile
"Fantastic, see you lot later" he said flashing his charming smile
The four boys let out a chorus of 'see yous' and 'in a bit's' before Remus, James and Peter turned to the boy with a mix of shocked, soft and sympathetic looks.
"Why did you do that?" said Remus confused as they continued to walk again
"Do what?" said the boy ignoring their stares
"Tell him that? say you'd give him the spell?" said Peter as if it were obvious "You're making his chances with her better!"
"I didn't do it for him" sighed the boy with a shake of his head
"You did it for her.." whispered James in realisation "You really do love her.."
"More than life itself."
"You made a spell..just for her."
"I did." confirmed Sirius "She doesn't know that though..thinks I found it in some book."
"Then why not tell her?" frowned Remus "You could boost your chances with her.." he frowned "Why not tell him the wrong flower?"
"Because that would be wrong" he said shaking his head "I don't want to sabotage her happiness and he can make her happy, he just needs a little push."
"And you're willing to sacrifice your own happiness for his chances with her?" squeaked Peter also confused
"No I'm willing to sacrifice my happiness for hers. Everything I'm doing I'm doing for her.."
