The first journal had a leather cover and it was worn out, it said "How I got my powers" I noticed the handwriting instantly, it matched my mom's. This must be what she wrote in to document when she first got her powers.

I started reading...

It is August 1st and I felt drawn to the forest, the sun was shining through the leaves on the trees. I was pretty deep into the woods when I started to get a weird feeling in my stomach. Calmness filled me as a ladybug walked across my hand. The warmth of the sun-filled my body. Rays of sun bolted through my hands, cutting through the ground. Exposing the grainy layers of the earth. This is the first time my powers had shown.

My mom's spirit animal is a ladybug!

Turning the page I began to read further.

It is August 7th, it's been about a week since I last used my powers. I went back into the woods today testing out my powers once more. This time I started growing different types of flowers, such as; daisies, roses, sunflowers, and forget me not. Ladybugs began to crawl over the various flowers. They started to swarm my body and I grew beautiful red and black wings. They went away shortly after.

My mom's spirit animal is the ladybug, that's so cool! That means that my spirit animal is a butterfly.

I started reading the second journal and it talked about how our family originated from Europe, and every girl in our family is a fairy. My grandmother was a water fairy and my grandfather was half nature and half water fairy. He was the only male fairy in the family. They didn't know if my mom was going to be a nature or water fairy.

She ended up being a nature fairy just like me. She wrote that being a nature fairy was very hard because we are different from most, we are the most powerful of our species.

Our emotions affect our powers. That must be why when I felt scared the roots enclosed around me.

She also gave me a warning. It said, "Beware of vampires, they are dangerous." What have I gotten myself into?
