The Ordinary Girl

XVII

*Celeste's point of view*

I got into my car and drove back to Whitewater College. I couldn't help but notice the forest and how alluring it looked. What if I saw a wolf like Marcus again? What would I do? Damian told me to stay away from the wolves but they are amazing creatures. I can't believe Marcus is a wolf. He looked really handsome. His chiseled abs and his beautiful blond hair.

"Wait what am I saying? I can't like Marcus, he's a wolf."

I try to concentrate, eyes back on the road, but there's something telling me to go into the woods. I pull over on the side of the road and step out of my black 2016 Honda Civic. I walk over to the edge of the forest, glancing back at my car. If the headlights weren't on, it would have completely blended into the darkness surrounding me.

When I enter the forest I finally feel at home. I realize how much I've missed the sound of the crickets chirping and the moon's white glow on the trees.

I see glowing fireflies surrounding me, they are so beautiful! I put my hand out and they form into a ball of light. I look down at the ground. I'm flying! I notice my blue and white spotted butterfly wings keeping me above the ground.

I put my hand back down and the fireflies slowly dispersed back into the dark forest around me. I yawn, suddenly feeling tired. I head back into the direction my car is parked.

I jump at the sound of twigs snapping behind me. This can't be good. I start walking faster towards my car, feeling like something is watching me. I turn around to stare right into a wolf's golden eyes.

"P-please don't h-hurt me." I said with a terrified voice.

All I heard was a low growl from the huge gray wolf. I sprinted to my car but I tripped on a fallen tree. I instantly felt shooting pain spread through my leg. The wolf was now on top of me pinning me down with its sharp claws.

Then all of a sudden another wolf leaped through the air ripping the gray wolf off of me. The wolf that had just saved me had jet black fur and blue eyes. Wait, that's Marcus! He saved me?

"M-Marcus!" I shouted trying to hide my fear.

He looked back at me and I saw his eyes soften. He turned back to the gray wolf and growled, making the wolf run off.

"Thank you Marcus." I said.

I quickly got up but as soon as I did the familiar pain shot up my leg. I crumbled into the forest floor. I heard Marcus whine at my discomfort.

I stood up again but this time Marcus was at my side. I use his fury body to help stabilize myself so I wouldn't fall again.

Black spots start to cloud my vision and I hear Marcus shift back to human form.

"It's alright Celeste. I've got you."

That was all I heard before I was surrounded by darkness.
