The two agents take a seat in front of Dr. Marx and send him a smile. "Hello, I'm so glad to see a young couple such as yourselves trying to save your marriage. Young love is such a wonderful thing," he tells them and Amanda refrains from rolling her eyes as she bites the inside of her cheek.
"What can I say, I love her no matter what," Spencer says, looking at her to let her know he means it.
"And what about you, Mrs. Monroe?"
Amanda frowns. "I think that in order for a relationship to work, it needs communication and once the two stop talking and make the relationship about something else, you no longer have a relationship." Dr. Marx frowns looking between the two.
"Well if your relationship requires communication, you've come to the right place. What exactly seems to be the issue?" Spencer looks to Amanda who sighs.
"We were happy for a few years, we were in love, but then he turned in to someone else. He acted like everything that happened to us was my fault so I had to look for affection somewhere else."
"She cheated on me," Spencer clarifies.
"And how did that make you feel," Dr. Marx questions, the grip on his pen tightening.
"It upset me? I love her, of course I do, and I know that I messed up and I was the one that ruined us but after that, it was hard you know? I know that communication is important but it was hard to talk about everything that happened after I hurt her."
"Because then you'd have to relive the fact that she cheated on you," he prompts angrily and Spencer frowns.
"Huh? Oh yeah. I didn't want to talk about what happened while she was...cheating on me because I knew that it was my fault and I thought that it would be better and easier if we just pretended that all of that never happened and we went back to what we were before when we were happy."
"That's not how life works, S-James! You can't just pretend that stuff didn't happen because it's easier or because you don't want to talk about it. It happened. You screwed up and there were consequences. But we both know that in that time we changed. We both became different people to cope with what happened and we have to reconcile those people with the people we were before," she retorts, neither of them noticing that Dr. Marx had gotten up and walked behind them until he speaks.
"How do you feel about that, Mr. Reynolds?"
"I think that she's right?" He questions, realizing that he had been so focused on Amanda he had let the potential unsub get the drop on them. They hear Hotch call their names right before they feel the unsub tase them and lose consciousness.

Amanda wakes up first and takes a glance at her surrounding. She notices that they are in a sort of cage that is made of chain-link fencing and she groans. "I hate getting kidnapped," she moans.
"Amanda?!" She hears loudly in her ear and winces before realizing why the voice is so loud is because the voice is coming from the earpiece in her ear.
"Aaron?"
"Amanda is Reid with you?" She stands and turns to see him in the make-shift cage next to her.
"Yeah. He's here." Unfortunately, she adds in her head.
"What happened?"
"That asshat tased us. He walked behind so we wouldn't see it coming. I didn't think he'd take us from his office which was stupid of me, considering that I got kidnapped outside a hospital last time."
"We're coming to get you just tell us what you see."
"A lot of chain link fencing and the couple that got kidnapped before us. It looks like some kind of warehouse but I was a little unconscious when we arrived," she snarks before hearing Spencer groan. "He's waking up."
