Day offs were rare working for the BAU and Amanda knew that. The fact that they had three consecutive days off was nothing short of a miracle and a definite sign that their next case was going to be shitty and boy was that the truth. They were called in at 5:30 in the morning and once again Amanda, Emily, and Spencer rode in together, much to Morgan's enjoyment. "Damn, Pretty Boy, I know you were a hotshot in college but I didn't know that you were still such a lady's man," he jokes.
"What are you talking about?" Spencer asks in confusion, making the two women in question giggle as he turns to them with a small frown.
"Well, you must be since you're getting all friendly with Ms. Prentiss and Ms. Amanda."
"Wh-What. No- No I- I'm not getting- getting friendly with- with anyone," he stutters out and Morgan bursts out laughing as Hotch walks into the conference room.
"It's Dr. Amanda and nobody is getting 'friendly' with my little sister," he tells him.
"Oh come on, Aaron, don't try and play big brother now, especially not with the boy I lost my virginity to," she taunts.
"Amanda!" Spencer cries as Emily, Morgan, and JJ laugh.
"Way too much information, Amanda. Can we not talk about our sex lives at the office?"
"You mean can we not talk about my sex life because if you mean all of our sex lives, Kristen certainly didn't get the memo." They all watch Aaron's face flush red at her words.
"What do you mean?" He asks, his voice an octave higher.
"I mean that Kristen and I tell each other everything and she has trouble knowing when she should choke on her words," she tells him sweetly before turning to JJ. "Don't we have a briefing to get started?" She takes in all of their surprised looks before JJ shakes her head as though to clear it and clears her throat.
"Right. Prostitutes have been dying in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is the sixth one this month."
"Wait, sixth? Why are we just being called in now?" Emily questions in shock.
"The local PD isn't exactly being cooperative. The Charlotte police commissioner called us in to help actually."
"Great, that's just what I wanted to do, deal with a bunch of alphas males that don't want us there as they withhold information on the case. My day just keeps getting better," Amanda grumbles, taking a sip of her coffee.
"How do we even know these are connected? Prostitutes are the most common group of people killed but most serial killers have a type. We've got two brunettes, two redheads, and two blondes. For all we know, we have three serial killers," Morgan points out.
"They were all killed in the same motel room," JJ reveals, catching Reid's attention.
"It's statistically unlikely that all 6 women would be killed in the same room by six different people, or even three different people if we go by Morgan's theory that we might have three different killers," Spencer reveals.
"Spence is right. As sad as it sounds, there isn't a whole lot of news coverage on murdered prostitutes which means that it would have to be a coincidence for all six murders to happen in the same room because I highly doubt the motel was advertising murders that happened in one of their rooms. What are the odds that even two people killed two different people in the same room let alone 6 different people killing six people or three people killing two others?"
"Before the kid starts spouting the statistics, let's continue with the briefing," Rossi suggests.
"You can tell me the statistics later if you want," Amanda offers and he smiles at her as JJ continues.
