Buddentine's Day (Drabble)

Description: Finn showing you that Valentine's Day can be platonic too.

Sighing you twirl a pencil around as you sit at a table in catering you were in a huffed mood and just ready to leave for the day.

"Hey y/n what's the glum look for."

"Hi, Finn I'm just a little irritated is all no big deal."

"Well, it must be if you're sitting here like that, come on tell me what's going on."

Finn sits across from you offering you an encouraging smile and you couldn't help but smile back at him. It would probably do you some good to get how you were feeling off your chest.

"The main thing is, a bunch of the women and even a few guys are going on and on about Valentine's Day. How they feel sorry I'll be spending the day alone, and that I don't have anyone to celebrate with this year."

"You don't have to have a partner to celebrate Valentine's Day they should all know that it's a day about love. It doesn't have to be romantic love either, so you have nothing to worry about if you are alone then that's fine."

"Thank you Finn that actually makes me feel better I just wish they'd get off my case about being alone."

"You don't have to be alone this year, how about I come over with some drinks and food, we can watch some movies or whatever and just have a friend's Valentine's Day."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, I'll be over around let's say three and then we can spend the rest of the day just hanging out and enjoying each other's company."

Finn smiles at you and you couldn't help yourself but you lean over and giving him a small hug.

"That's so exciting Finn I would love to thank you so much, I need to get to a meeting but we can text later about the details."

"You're welcome y/n talk to you later."

Watching you quickly walk away Finn stands up he was really excited he hadn't spent Valentine's Day with someone in years.

You set a few blankets on the couch humming to yourself while you get everything set up for your and Finn's movie night.

Finn: I'll be there in about ten minutes love

Y/n: Okay just ring the bell when you get here and I'll let you in

Putting your phone back you continue setting up the living room rearranging a few pillows here and there.

"Well, that's as good as it's going to get."

Walking into the kitchen for the drinks you just place them on the coffee table when the bell rings, walking over you open the front door.

"Hello, Finn."

"Hi Y/n, Happy Valentine/Buddentine Day."

Smiling you move out of the way letting Finn in who presses a kiss to your check carrying all the bags he had to the living room.

"Thank you, Happy Valentine/Buddentine Day to you as well, can I help you with anything?"

"No, thank you darlin I got it have a seat and we can get started."

Walking over you join Finn on the couch watching as he pulls out your favorite food, some sweets, more drinks, and even some flowers.

"These are for you, everyone deserves flowers given to them."

"They're beautiful Finn thank you."

Smelling them you go into the kitchen filling a vase with water and placing the flower in you carry it back with you.

"Thank you so much I'm sorry I didn't get you anything besides a box of candy."

"You're welcome, that's fine I like candy."

Reaching into the side stand drawer you pull out the box of candy handing it to Finn with a smile.

"So, what do you want to watch first?"

"We should start with something good do you want a romcom, a romance, or what?"

"Can we watch My Girl? I know it's not really a big romance but it's got some in it so it fits."

"Yeah that's fine I've never seen it before."

He chuckles leaning back with some food and waits for you to turn the tv on, once everything is set up you place the blankets over you both cuddling into his side, and press play.

"Okay well, you'll like it."

Thankfully you had tissues close by you weren't sure if he would cry but every time you watched this movie you bawled. The two of you enjoy your dinner while the movie plays, as it gets towards the end you glance at Finn seeing him blinking quickly. Grabbing the box of tissues you place them between you.

"This is so damn sad what the hell did you have me watch?"

"It's sad but it's so good."

"Give me a warning next time if it's going to be sad."

"Next time?"

Looking over at him Finn gives you a smile sniffling and nods his head, you expected this to be a one-time thing but the thought of it happening again made you grin.

"Yeah, Y/n next time."
