Daddy Needs A Girlfriend

Description: Y/n is close friends with Finn who needs an emergency babysitter for his daughter Gracie. The two bond together and Gracie shares with y/n that her daddy needs a girlfriend.

“Finn here I need you to sign these papers, hey what’s wrong?”

You ask after walking into your friend Finn’s office where he’s sat frantically typing on his computer and talking on the phone. Pointing for you to sit you do so waiting for him to finish his conversation. When he finally hangs up he runs a hand through his hair sitting back and pinching the bridge of his nose.

“Sorry about that y/n I’m just really stressing the fook out.”

“What’s wrong?”

“I have to go to a meeting the next town over and my babysitter cancelled on me because she’s sick. I have no one to watch Gracie on such short notice and I’m going to be there for at least three hours. I can’t take her with me and I have no idea what the hell I’m supposed to do.”

“I’ll watch her.”

You offer nearly laughing at his look of surprise and shock at your words.

“What?”

“You heard me I said I would watch her she’s so sweet I don’t think she would be any trouble at all plus I’m not doing anything this evening.”

“Are ya sure you don’t have to.”

“Of course I’m sure I wouldn’t offer it just for the hell of it.”

“You’re the greatest friend ever I owe you a million.”

Finn grins standing up when you hand him the papers hugging you tightly he lets out a sigh of relief.

“How about you pay for lunch next time?”

“Sounds good to me do you remember how to get to my house?”

“Finn I have literally been to your house like ten times I know how to get there.”

"That's right sorry sorry I'm just so relieved my thoughts are scattered all over the place."

Smiling you rest your hand on his shoulder giving it a light squeeze.

"Stop stressing I got this just focus on the meetings we can talk more about it later."

"Okay thank ya y/n."

"No problem now sign these papers so I can get back to work."

Finn quickly signs the papers walking out you go back to your office shaking your head Finn constantly was stressed. From being a single father to being apart of running a huge company. It's a wonder he hadn't had a nervous breakdown which always worried you.

"Here are all the emergency numbers you already have my cell phone number so if anything goes wrong, don't hesitate ta call."

"Okay and what does she eat for dinner?"

"Curly chips and a mini slider is what she asked for."

Nodding your head you smile when he bends down to Grace's high kissing her forehead.

"Daddy has ta go out for a few hours y/n is gonna watch you I'll see you in the morning  okay? I want you to be a good princess for me."

Grace smiles nodding her head wrapping her little arms around her father's neck kissing his cheek.

"I love you."

"I love you too Grace."

Finn kisses her forehead standing up and hugging you pressing a kiss to your cheek.

"Thank you so much for this."

"You're welcome now go on."

Shooing him out the door you lock it turning back to Grace who smiles.

"What shall we do first?"

"Dress up!"

Taking your hand Grace pulls you upstairs to her bedroom digging through her costume. You pull out an adult sized doctor outfit the two of you start taking care of her sick and injured stuffed toys. The evening is spent playing dress up, board games, a tea party and cards. Stopping for dinner you clean up then take Grace up so she could take a bath. Once finished you dry and brush her hair smiling as she hums a song to herself cuddling her stuffed giraffe. Tucking her into bed you pull out Thumbelina Grace curled tightly to your side.

"Y/n?"

"Yes sweetheart?"

"How do you get a girlfriend?"

Looking down at her you put a finger to mark your place in the book before thinking maybe this was a conversation she should have with Finn.

"Maybe you should ask your daddy."

"But I need to know now."

"Okay well when you like someone and want to date them you can ask them to be your boyfriend or girlfriend. Why do you ask love?"

"Because daddy needs a girlfriend he's always busy and upset maybe if he had a girlfriend he'd be happier."

"Have you talked to him?"

She shakes her head then looks at you with a smile raising a brow at her she sits up.

"Would you be my daddy's girlfriend? He already likes you and kisses your cheek plus I love you and we could play all the time."

"Oh sweetie I don't think he likes me that way."

"He could just ask him."

Sighing you nod opening the book back up continuing to read as she curls back into your side. Pressing a kiss to her head you comb your fingers through her hair when she's finally asleep you slip downstairs. Just as you sit down Finn comes in looking tired sitting beside you.

"How was the meeting?"

"Good, long and stressful but I'm happy it's done with. How was Grace?"

"An absolute sweetheart she was so well behaved."

"Good I'm glad thank you again."

"You're welcome there is something I should warn you about."

When he looks at you concerned you explain the whole conversation you and Grace had.

"She asked you to be my girlfriend?"

"Mhm it was cute honestly."

"How did it make you feel, the thought of us dating?"

Looking at him confused before shrugging you let out a sigh.

"I've thought about it more than I care to admit."

"Really? Does this mean you fancy me y/n?"

"Yeah Finn it does."

"Good because asking you to go on a date if you didn't like me would be awkward."

Smiling you scoot closer resting in his side when he lifts his arm pressing a kiss to your head.

"I was gonna ask you eventually but I'm glad she helped me along."

You giggle as you and Finn spent the rest of the evening whispering to each other late into the night.
