Monster Under The Bed

Description: Your and Finn's daughter keeps waking up at night scared of a monster under her bed. So Finn calls on Bálor to help.

Middle of the night when everyone was sleeping the faint sound of feet moving across the hallway carpet could be heard. Melody was clutching a small giraffe stuffie, tighty in her arms as she made it to the door leading into the master bedroom. Quickly rounding the bed, Melody gently taps on Finn's shoulder.

"Psss papa, wake up please."

Grunting into the pillow as he stirs awake, Finn lifts his head blinking trying to find the source that woke him.

"Papa, are you awake?"

"Melly? What are you doing awake so late my love?"

Sitting up against the headboard careful not to wake you; Finn lifts the small child up onto his lap hugging them close.

"There's a monster under my bed, it's going to grab my leg and pull me under the bed. So Jelly and I ran as fastest as we could out the door. Can we please sleep with you and mama?"

Hearing the fear in his child's voice pulled Finn's heartstrings, nodding he scoots over allowing her to snuggle down between the two of you.

"Of course, love, now don't you worry there are no monsters in here and I'm sure there aren't any in your room. We'll get it sorted in the morning."

He whispers pressing a soft kiss to her cheek and rubbing her back, seeing you start to stir Finn gently rubs your back as well.

"Shh, everything is okay sweetheart go back to sleep."

His lips pressed a kiss to your shoulder. Once the two of you were finally sleeping soundly Finn settled back into his pillow. And drifted off again his arm gently draped over you both.
Finn presses the off switch when the first alarm goes off and carefully untangles himself from your child. Getting dressed for a workout he spends the next two hours waiting for you to wake up. So you could discuss what to do...

"That's the fourth time this week that she's woken up and left her room. I'm seriously worried this is going to ruin her sleep schedule, and scare the poor girl for who knows how long."

You sigh looking over at your husband as you enjoy your favorite morning drink. Melody was still fast asleep upstairs.

"I've been thinking about that and I came up with an idea. Now I'm not sure if he's going to agree to it but it doesn't hurt to ask.
She knows we can't see it and we know it's not there. However, I've been thinking of maybe having Bálor talk to her. Melly seems to enjoy talking to him the few times he's been out at the shows. So maybe he'd be willing to talk to her and sort of chase it off."

Finn rubs a hand over his chin, the more he thought about it the more sense it made. What better way to get rid of a monster than to have the demon king himself send it away.

"Whatever works, I'm willing to try anything at this point because I've run out of ideas."

"Same here, I'm gonna talk to him and then tonight before she goes to bed. Hopefully, he'll be willing to do this for her."

"Here's to hoping."

Clinking mugs, Finn takes a sip of his coffee and thinks on how to convince the demon king to come out and help Melody...

"I can't believe you would just assume I wouldn't help."

"Well, y/n and I just weren't sure how you felt about it. I mean you are rather busy and it's not a real monster so we didn't know. I figured it couldn't hurt to ask."
