Me, mum, Nick, Janey and Micheal are sat at the dining room. Janey still admiring her teeth in the reflection of the spoon she is holding. The rest of us looks at her weirdly not eating whatever mum cooked.

"Janey stop admiring your teeth and eat something," Mum says.

"Mel says you got to love yourself before others will love you," Janey says.

"Well keep trying"Nick says before going back to his dinner.

"What is this?" Micheal asks the question we all wanted to ask.

"Toad in the hole. But we don't have any sausages," Mum answers. Both me and my brother gave her a weird look.

"So it's just hole?" Janey asks.

"It's not just hole it is french it is:.." Mum says before saying a random word to make it more appealing. Before any of us could argue with that dad walks in.

"Hello," Dad says. Mum got out of her seat saying this:

"Good evening, Nice to meet you my name is Susan Harper. And these are your children: Janey, Nick, Maddie and Micheal." Mum says.

"Hello," Janey says. Still admiring her teeth.

"Hey," Micheal says.

"Hi" Nick and I say.

"Alright, alright I'm late but it the only time some people can come in," Dad says. "And don't ask what sort of day I had," After no response. "Okay I will tell you anyway, in one word bloody awful."

"That is two words." I say.

"And i have another two word for you," Dad says. "Do I get Dinner?"

"That is four words," Nick says.

"It is in the kitchen," Mum says.

"Oh it in the kitchen any specific location," Dad says.

"On the counter," Mum says. Making me look up as I remember the rabbit Micheal brought was on there.

"I think it needs to go in a bit longer," dad says after finding the rabbit.

"Janey what are you doing?" Mum asks.

"Mel says water should be savored like a fine wine," Janey says.

"Who is this Mel?" I ask

"And how come she is suddenly the front of all girly wisdom?" Nick asks.

"Mel is a he," Janey says.

"Ah, That explains a lot." I say.

"Ah a he," Nick says looking over at dad who now has his right dinner.

"Ah, a he how lovely well perhaps you could ring your new friend round for tea and if he was any like the last one he could bring his probation officer," Dad says.

"It's not like that it's Mel you know Mel Fraser my dentist." Janey says.

"Oh yes Mr dial a dentist, Mr filings in a jiffy and free travel clock on your third visit," Dad says.

"Dad he's cool he has a ear-ring." Janey says.

"Oh has he oh he's got a ear-ring oh great well that marvelous qualification." Dad says. "In dentistry that is a equivalent to a OBE."

"Oh and hes from Australia," Janey says not helping a bit.

"Oh really he's an Australian, well that completely change my opinion of him how can i be so blinkard" Dad says. (Sorry for the wrong spelling)
