25 - First attempt

He banged his head against the cabinet in defeat. I knew he was close on giving up, he wouldn't take it much longer. We had stayed at Hogwarts for winter break because he was scared to face my father. He knew that my father wasn't someone to fool. He left me bleeding out he wouldn't have any mercy for Draco, not after his fathers failure.

" I can't do this Cassiopeia, your father is going to kill me, h-he's going to kill my mom" He started hyperventilating.

His breaths were short, he gasped for air as tears ran down his cheek. His hands shook viciously as well as his whole body. He went towards me and wrapped his arms around me still shaking in my embrace.

" Breath Draco breath nor your or your mom are going to die come on breath with me 1...2...3...4...5" He copied my breathing as he slowly stopped shaking in my arms.

His chest started to rise and fall at a slower pace and his sobs were no longer as loud. I grab a hold of his face which was red and tear stained. He didn't deserve this neither of us did. We should be happy living out teenage years before we have to go into adult hood. We were forced to skip that step we went from kids to adult. Our lives everyday were at risk.

" I promise you i won't let anything happen to you or your mother you have my word Draco" I told him sincerely.

" You know if it wasn't for you mom i would've bled out in the hands of my father, she was the one who found me and healed me, protecting you and her would be the least i could do" He looked at me shocked that his mom was the one who saved me.

" What if i kill Dumbledore first i won't have to fix this stupid cabinet" He said as we walked away to look at the broken cabinet that hadn't left him in peace.

" I do have a cursed necklace, it was my mother's she gave it to me when i was a kid so i could die, Leo saved me" I told him as i eyed the room.

" That could work" He thought deeply as if he had a whole plan in his head.

" You give me the necklace and i'll do the rest, you would be the number 1 suspect if anything goes wrong it'll be better if you go with Pansy or Theo" I nodded my head agreeing.

He was right i would be a big suspect if anything were to go wrong. It was also better if i didn't know what he was going to do. I would just tell the group to go get some drinks while Draco takes care of the assassination.

" I'll do it tomorrow at hogsmeade" He said as he closed the cabinet and collected his stuff.

" I'll give you the necklace in the morning" I said before leaving the room first.

I walked through the corridors going back down to the dungeons. I walked at a fast pace not wanting to talk to anyone. I was at the 2nd floor when i heard my name get called. I look around and saw it came from Hermione she was next to the new potions professor.

" Cassiopeia Slughorn here was looking for you" She stated as she pointed towards the old man next to her.

I walked closer to them but kept my distance. " What can i do for you professor" I asked

" Back in the day i used to have these little parties for my club - slug club - i'd be delighted if you could join us after all you are top class in my potions class" He asked not a single bit nervous to talk to the dark lords daughter.

I smirked when he said i was the best in his class but Grangers expression dropped, i guess she wasn't used to be second.

" That'd be wonderful sir" I said with a fake smile which he smiled back at.

" Great look out for my owl also bring Blaise Zabini id like him in there too" I nodded and walked away until her stopped me again.

" I can see how much different than you are from your father but you also remind me so much of him when he was younger also such a curious young boy sadly power overtook him" He said before leaving Grander and I.
