39 - War Part 2

They had broken the wards that were surrounding the castle. The blue orb that once surrounded the perimeter of the school was now rushing down. The bridge was being destroyed my Neville and Seamus. Fire erupt taking down the bridge quickly but not quick enough to not let death eaters in.

The weather got automatically colder. The air blew in our faces making me shiver slightly. This showed how much worst this was going to be. This was going to be more than a war this was our future. This was our future being decided.

So many inocente souls would be taken this night. Many parents wild loose their children. Many children would lose their parents. Many loved ones would be lost. Death was coming to take everyone, those who survived were lucky enough to hide from death.

I wasn't.

After this night my name would just be a word, a memory for some. I would become a distant memory. Death was coming for me tonight and i wasn't going to stop it from taking me. My soul is too dark for this world either way.

We were all brought to this world to die. Some first than others but we were all going to the same place. Our life is borrowed, one day we would have to give it back. My day was today and i would welcome death like a friend. I would welcome it with open arms.

I would be with my mother after all these years. She sacrificed herself for me. She gave me away for me to have a better future. Her sacrifice was in vain but i would avenge her today. I would also join her today. I would finally meet my real mother.

I knew i would leave many behind today. Me being here would only mean keeping my father alive, no one wants that. Finally standing up to my father would make me die in peace knowing i wasn't like him. I would finally pick my side. My side wasn't the light or dark side. My side was my side.

I would love to stay here and see myself and my friends grow old together. I would love to see Theo be a father, an amazing father he would be. I want to see Blaise and Luna get married how they wanted to do after they graduated. I want to see Damon finally settle with Pansy, something i would die to see.

Draco, I only imagined him and i. I never pictured myself with a future that didn't involve him. I wanted a future with him. We were both so broken but we were each other's missing pieces. I wish we had more time. I wish i could tell him that i love him more than he loves me. I wish our story was written in a better plot. Our story would never have a happy ending, ours would be those bitter endings that left you with a missing part of you in your soul. Those stories that made you feel empty after reading them.

I would be the cause of none of that happening. I am the only one at fault. I would be the one getting death mad so it would take me.

The sounds of rubble falling off the walls filled the air along with screams and curses. The air was thick making it hard to breath. Fire spread across the court yard. Huge spiders and trolls from the forbidden forest had also been let free. Bodies dropping from both sides down to the cold stone pavement. Mercy was not around, not on any side. No one could be weak during these times, no one could care about anyone but themselves.

The Astronomy tower was letting me see all around the school grounds. It allowed me to see the dead bodies getting stomped at. I could see people running for their lives. Screams of pure agony filled the grounds of the once completely joyful school. Where people were fighting was used as a place for love now it was used as a place for hatred.

I wasn't going to fight tonight. I was going to lay low in the shadows until it was my turn. Until it was my time of death. Until death called saying it was time.

My mind went blank only seeing Nagini, Potter and I. My father looked scared but mad at the same time. That was when it hit. Nagini and Potter were also horcruxes. They also had to be killed tonight.

My feet carried my body through the left over rubble and dead bodies. The death eaters were ordered to step back so now it was time for people to grief. My lungs and sides burned as they yelled at me to stop running but i needed to find Harry.

I had found him in front of the room of requirements  with Hermione and Ron. My feet finally came to a stop as he stared at me with a knowing look. My eyes drifted to the other side of the wall to find Draco and Blaise hunched over coughing.

" Cassiopeia! where have you been" Draco was on his feet in seconds coming straight towards me. I just continued to stare at Harry behind Draco.

" The snake, it's a horcrux" Harry finally spoke as he looked around then back to me.

" So are we" I spoke moving from Draco's embrace to Harry. He looked troubled with his own thoughts.

" Does that mean-" Hermione started her sentence but didn't finish it when she saw Harry and I nodding our heads.

" We need to die" I finished it for her, Blaise and Draco's eyes went wide. Ron looked confused and scared.

" No, there must be another way" Draco protested as he tried to come up with ideas in his head.

" Kill the snake then he's completely defenseless. He's done for,any of you could do it after." Harry told Hermione and Ron, he didn't really want to acknowledge Blaise and Draco.

" Harry" I called him over behind a pillar. He looked at me for a couple of seconds before coming up to me.

" I wanted to tell you you've done great. You are going to save the wizard world Harry, you are a true hero. I'm sorry for everything i wish we had time to rebuild what we had but fate had another path for us. I'll see you soon, scar head" I laughed at my old nickname for him, his lips broke a little smile as he pulled me into a hug. Soon i felt two other arms around me, Hermione and Ron.

The old Golden Quartet.

" See you Cassy" He whispered in my ear as him and the other two pulled away. Hermione wiped her tears as she was about to lose two of the most important people in her life.

" Ron" I called out as he descended down the broken stairs, " Marry her" He stopped in his tracks, he knew exactly who i was talking about.

" I will" He called out before going down the stairs towards the great hall. At least they would get their happy ending.

" You aren't really dying are you" Blaise said behind me clinging onto any hope.

" It has to be done, father will win if i don't. This whole world will go to hell. It better if i die than the rest of the wizarding world." Blaise's eyes were full with tears that he wouldn't let out. He wasn't a man with much emotion.

" Cass, please don't leave me, don't leave us" Draco spoke from aside Blaise.

" I want all of you to be happy, with or without me" Blaise wrapped his arms around me tightly kissing my temple lightly in a brotherly way.

" Keep Luna happy" I told him, he nodded on top of my head, " I will always"

" This isn't a good bye Cassiopeia because i know i will see you soon one day, one day when-" I interrupted Draco.

" When i'm not the devil's daughter"
