By the time everyone left and Ashley and I were the only ones there, it was about a half hour to mid night. Louis took Ashley home and as I got out of the front seat to pull it forward for her to come out she and Louis said their goodbyes. We hugged before she left and I asked, “What did Niall say to you in the kitchen?”

“He wanted to know if I was busy tomorrow night. He’s picking me up at 7,” she said excitedly.

I squeezed her tighter, “Tell me all about it, okay?” I said letting go. She grinned widely and nodded. We made sure she got inside okay before driving to my place to pack.

Once again we were in my room, but this time instead of me throwing him clothes to put in my bag, I was telling him what to throw me as I packed it away.

“You guys were amazing tonight,” I said.

“It was really a lot of fun, I can’t wait to see them again!”

“Niall and Ashley got on really well,” which made me happy. Niall seemed like a sweetie and Ashley is such a doll!

I asked Louis to hand me my green dress. I figured since there was supposed to be a spot or two of sun tomorrow I would dress a little nicer than usual. Before handing it to me he asked, “Got any plans for tomorrow?”

“Nothing’s been said about anything, why?”

“How about we just spend the day inside. Have a lazy day,”

I smiled, “In that case put the dress away and get those gray sweat pants and black tee shirt,” he tossed the items of clothing to me and glanced at my digital clock.

“Look at the time,” he said.

It read 12:07am, Sunday morning. We were a couple now. He ran over and tackled me on the bed. Lying on top of me he smiled and looked in my eyes.

“Hi,” I said softly.

“Hey there,” he replied.

And with that he slowly leaned down and right before kissing my lips he said, “Mmm, maybe I don’t want to kiss you. You teased me pretty bad the other day in the break room,”

I glared at him, “I was teasing myself too ya know,”

He smiled and kissed my cheek….then my chin…then my other cheek…then my nose…he hovered above my lips and I leaned up to meet them. It was like everything bad in the world melted away and Louis was the only important thing in my life. The kiss started out sweet and light, but soon turned more powerful, like making up for lost time.

My phone buzzed and I ignored it, but as it continued to buzz so I reluctantly broke away from him and pull it out of my pocket. Ashley was calling. “Sorry,” I whispered as I put the phone up to my ear. Lou didn’t look too happy as he stood up and started to fold my clothes to put in my bag. “Hey Ash, what’s up?” I said trying to stop breathing so heavily. I could still taste Louis on my tongue and I regretted answering my phone.

“She’s gone,” Ashley said sobbing. I sat bolt up, “Your mom?”

“I-I got h-home and w-w-went up t-to s-see her…” she sobbed more, breaking my heart. It was a kind of crying I’ve never heard before. It was the kind of crying that you only cry when you’ve lost someone. She calmed down to finish telling me what happened.

“She…she looked alright…she was sitting up and smiling…and she…she wanted to hear all about our night…I tucked her in and sat by her side t-telling her e-everything…even N-Niall….and when I finished…s-she w-w-wasn’t….w-wasn’t…b-b-b-breathing….” Ashley was hyperventilating now.
