Chapter twenty four
This is a long one get readyThe whistle was blown and the train began to move. Goodbye Hogwarts, see you soon.
Snow was all around us dropping from the sky and laying on the floor like a blanket over a freezing body. Birds were flying in the air, free. Unlike me. I was never going to be free. Nobody was ever going to be safe from me. It just won't happen. I have to live with this curse for the rest of my life. And I have to go through it alone. Nobody can help me.
"Are you ok Serena?" Nat asked.
"Fine" I said turning my gaze away from the window and onto my three best friends sitting in front of me. "I don't think I should of gone, Noah's sat depressed in his dorm room and I'm sitting on the train about to meet my father, who taught me for a whole year and I didn't even know"
I turned away from them and looked back out at the hills of Scotland. I played with the charms on my bracelet and smiled at the love heart. I never took it off.
"I'm gonna get some air" I told them.
"Wait...Serena" Alex began.
I stood up and walked out the compartment. A few meters in front I saw Hermione. The girl in the flesh. She stood in front of a compartment for a second looked at something and then ran off, strange. I decided to see who was in there. I walked down until I was met by a drawing of a love heart and written inside was R + L with a cross going through it.
I had heard that Lavender brown and Weasley were dating. She seemed a bit, what's the word? Obsessed.
I stood out the window for a bit longer until Harry looked up and saw me he smiled and I smiled back. I didn't want to interrupt his conversation with Weasley so I carried on down the corridor.
I hated walking on a moving train, it freaks me out. Makes me feel ill.
I stopped at a window and looked out at the surroundings, nothing for miles. Everything was covered in snow so it was hard to make out things in the distance.
I must of been standing there for a while because the scenery had completely changed we weren't in the countryside anymore we were probably in the middle of London.
"Excuse me" A group of girls said with their bags in their hands.
"Sorry" I moved to the wall and let them pass. I realised the train was slowing down so I walked back to my compartment.
Alex and Mae were the only ones still in there, Nat had gone. I opened the door and stepped inside.
"Rena! You've been gone for nearly 5 hours we were worried" Mae exclaimed.
"Sorry, I lost track of time. Where's Nat?" I asked.
"Looking for you, she'll be back in a minute" Alex said.
