Maze runner (love story with newt)

The maze

The night had past and it was morning again, and again I woke up on top of Newt. I love him sleeping with me I feel much safer as I am the only girl in the glade. I slowly moved my leg off of his and onto the floor, half on and half off the bed. Struggling to pull myself up off of him I slowly move my arm then my head to then sit on the side of the bed. I get dressed with Newt still asleep in the same position.

He looks so comfortable I didn't want to wake him so I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and shut the door behind me as I walked out. I walked towards the maze door because I wanted to watch it open this morning. I'm so interested in the maze, I want to find out more even if it is just to watch it open.

"Morning Ivy!" Thomas came from behind me.

"So you want to watch the maze open too?" I know we both want to explore it but we're not allowed.

"Yes. I want to know more about the maze" he sat next to me in the middle of the glade field and we both watched as the maze door opened.

"Me too. Have done for the whole time here, it's only been a month for me because I came just before you." I hadn't told Thomas yet how long I had been here for and he looked at me, shocked.

"You've only been here a month? You and Newt look like you've known each other for years!" He looked me in my eyes and I looked back.

"I know. That's what I don't get. I feel like I might have known him before we came to the glade. I have such a connection with him" I hug my legs.

"We need to get out of here. We need to find a way." He stands up and Alby and Minho walk past us and run into the maze.

"Why is Alby going into the maze?" Just as I say that Newt comes up behind me and picks me up scaring me from behind.

"The answer to that question is that Alby went into the maze to retrace Ben's footsteps before sundown" He put me down and looked a bit upset from yesterday with Ben so I hugged him very tightly.

"Will Alby be ok in the maze because he's not a runner?" Thomas still interested.

"Alby is different. He knows what he's doing. He knows better then any of us." Newt goes over to cut a dead tree down and Thomas and I help.

Most of the day goes past and the rain starts pouring down and we all go under shelter. "What happens if they don't make it?" I hold Newts hand and squeeze it.

"They'll make it" he squeezes my hand back and I take it and pull him out of the shelter into the rain. I start dancing and Newt dances with me, every once in a while we would kiss, it was pretty romantic but after a while we were soaked and everyone looked at us like we were crazy, we just carried on dancing to get our minds off Minho and Alby and just have fun for the time being. When the rain stoped everyone walked over to the door waiting for Minho and Alby to get back.

"Come on guys! Can't we send anyone after them?" Thomas breaks the silence.

"That's against the rules!" Gally says quickly.

"We can't risk loosing anyone else" Newt says while holding my hand and looking and me in the eyes.

We feel the rush of wind hit us and the maze door starts closing. After a few seconds we see Minho walks around the corner with Alby on his back. He looks like he's hurt.

"COME ON MINHO YOU CAN DO IT!" Chuck shouts out. And everyone shouts the same thing.

"They're not going to make it..." he says while staring at Minho and Alby. I look around me knowing that they're not going to make it. I couldn't help myself.

"I'm sorry" I quickly kiss Newt and let go of his hand so fast that he couldn't grab me. Thomas then followed behind me and we ran through the moving door while Newt and a few others put there arms in trying to grabs us.

"IVY!!!" I could hear Newt shouting.

We both only just made it through the door and it shut completely. We look at each other in shock.

"Good job...You just killed yourselves!" Minho sits down with his arms around his knees and head facing down. Breathing heavily.

"What happened to Alby?" Thomas sits next to him looking at Alby passed out on the floor.

I stand up looking all around me. I finally got to see the maze from not just the outside but the inside. The walls were so high and the insides were covered in hanging leaves and branches. "We can survive the night, stick with me. I have an idea!" I look at Thomas and Minho very confidently. Tonight's the night. I can show everyone that I can be a runner.
