Maze runner (love story with newt)

Bonfire

It was night again and I had officially been in the glade for over 24 hours now. I already feel like I fit in with everyone and I feel like I am at home, everyone is so nice and Newt and I get along very well.
Everyone was sat around the fire and talking and I was sat next to Chuck, Chuck and I talked for around 20 minutes and then Newt came over and sat next to me.

"Hello sunshine, are you alright?" He said in his cute British accent.

"Yep I'm good thank you" we lock eyes and stop speaking for a while but then Chuck snapped us out of it as he says, "Are you going to ask me if I'm alright Newt?" He asked with a mad look on his face.

"Oh yeh sorry mate, I didn't realise you were there" he says with a big smile on his face.

"Of course you didn't, you two looked like you were looking into each other's souls, it's creepy" he moves around awkwardly. "Anyways I'm going to go and leave you two to chat" he gets up and walks over to watch Gally and some other people fighting around the bonfire.

I look back at Newt and realise that he's not there, I was so confused, when did he leave?
I look around and realise that he's not around the bonfire. I was about to get up to go find him when I felt someone put something over my shoulders, a big blanket, he then sits next to me really closely with his arm around my shoulders, it was Newt.

"Newt! Where did you go?" I was so confused.

"To get you a blanket, I noticed that you were shaking a bit. Sorry." He takes his arms off my shoulders and places his hands on his lap.

"Thank you, are you cold?" I could tell that he was shaking too.

"No I'm good, is that blanket warm enough?" Still shaking a little bit.

"Yes now come here," I open up my arms and sit closer to him putting the blanket over him as well. "Is that better?" I look at him and realise that my face is only inches away from his face, I blush but keep my cool and rest my head on his shoulder.

"Thanks, wanna know something?" He rests his head on top of my head, "I've never felt as close with someone as I feel with you right now" he doesn't even stutter, I love how confident and kind he is.

"Really?" Me too..." I pull him in tighter towards me and then Minho comes over and sits next to Newt. Minho is one of the runners, I met him at lunch today, he's very kind.

"I see you two have gotten close" he winks at me and I blush.

Newt stands up and says "Minho? Do you know if the builders have finished with greeny's room yet?" He wraps the blanket around me.

"Yep I think I saw them doing it today so it must be done by now." Minho then looks at me as Newt goes to check with them. "Your a lucky girl, we would all die for our owns rooms." He rolled his eyes.

"Well yes but I am a girl. I don't really want all the boys watching me get dressed" I laugh.

"I get it. Your also lucky that Newt cares about you otherwise you probably wouldn't have gotten your own room if not. He is second-in-command and can get you basically anything" he stands up and walks back to his group, the runners.

Newt comes back after talking to a few people, "so can I show you your room? They just told me where it is. It's next to all our beds so that your not alone." He grabs my hand.

We walk away from the bonfire, him still holding my hand, he shows me my room. It's a wooden box with a wooden door. "Wow, these guys are really clever!" I say to Newt.

"Yep, they have been working on it all day, by the way my bed is the first one you see as you walk out your door so if you need anything I'm just outside" he gives me the biggest smile.

"Ok thank you GREENY" I giggle.

"Oh yeh sorry about that, I don't know what Minho would think if I called you sunshine" he blushes a little and I laugh just because of that.

Everyone is asleep and I'm in my new room, I can't stop thinking about Newt but at the same time I'm thinking about the maze, I know that I'm a fast runner, but I don't know if Alby or Newt would ever let me be one. They told me that you can't just pick to be a runner, no one wants to be a runner. But I do. I want to get out into the maze and find a way out for everyone and most of all I want to know what is out there. What is behind these walls.

The next morning I wake up with the sound of knocking on my door, half awake I say "come in" A tall boy walks in with something in his hand but I can't really see as I was up all night thinking about everything and I am so tired.
I turn around and fall back asleep forgetting that someone is in my room, I feel someone sit down at the end of my bed and shake my shoulder. "Wake up sunshine!" There's only one person that calls me by that name and then I remember. I sit up really fast scaring Newt, making him jump a little bit. "Oh my god! I know my name!" I look at Newt with my eyes wide open.

"That's great! What's your name?" He hands me my hairbrush, then I get all embarrassed because I've got messy hair again. So I quickly brush my hair and then shout out my name, "MY NAME IS IVY! IVY! IVY!"In shock I jump out of bed and run around waking everybody up shouting my name over and over.
I then run back to my room and outside is Newt standing against the outside of my door smiling at me.

"Welcome to the glade Ivy!" Alby shouts over at me.

I then run back to Newt and give him a big hug, "I can't believe I forgot such a simple name!" I look at Newt in the eyes and breaking the silence he says "that's a cute name" I slap him playfully and giggle, "I'm still sunshine to you mister" I say while blushing and Newts hands still around my waist from hugging me.
