I woke up the next morning to hear my phone going off. I picked it up from my nightstand, and saw that Hotch was calling me.

"Hey Hotch what's wrong?" I asked him still trying to wake myself up

"Hey Reid we have a case. We don't have time to brief we're going to meet at the plane in 30 minutes." So maybe I was going to see Avery today!

"Ya ok I'll be there soon. Oh and Hotch if you didn't already I can call Avery and tell her we need her to fly us."

"Since when do you talk to Avery? I've never even see you look at her." I knew him and Avery were close, so I can see why he'd be confused that I'm volunteer to call her out of the blue.

"Oh Um we actually hung out yesterday. Do you need me to call her, or not?" I said quickly not in the mood to answer more questions about Avery and I.

"Ya that would be great tell her to meet us there in 30 minutes and that we are going to LA" oh great last time we went to LA I got ghosted by Lila Archer.

"Ok see you soon" with that I ended the call and quickly called Avery's number. She answered by the second ring.

"Hello?" She said her voice groggy, but adorable.

"Hey Avery it's Spencer" she let out a little giggle

"Spencer I know who you are.  Is everything ok though? Why are you calling me at....6:40 A.M."

"We have a case. I told Hotch I would call and let you know."

"Aww that's very sweet thank you. What time do I need to be at the airport?" She questioned

"About 30 minutes Hotch said he wants to brief us on the plane"

"Ooo it must be urgent then, I guess I'll see you soon. Wait where are we going?"

"Los Angles" I said with the least bit of enthusiasm

"Hey didn't you meet someone famous last time you went. I remember Derek going on and on about it"

"Yes we did but it was nothing special. I'll see you soon I have to get ready." I hung up quickly . I was a little bit cold to her, and I feel bad about it. I just didn't want to remember my time with Lila. ...

I got to the plane early so I could go talk to Avery. When I got there I was Hotch sitting at his usual spot in the corner, and Avery was on her phone in the cockpit. I put my stuff down, and walked over to her. Hotch was watching me the whole time.

"Hey Avery!" I said taking a seat on the co-pilot chair.

"Hey Spencer! What's up?" She asked me while putting her phone away. She started to play with her fingers which I notice she does a lot.

"Nothing much I just wanted to say hi and that I had a great time yesterday."  She looked back up at me when I finished speaking.

"I had a lot of fun as well. I didn't understand half the movie, but I had fun nonetheless" I laughed at her little joke.

"I'm sorry if I seemed rude this morning I'm just tired" she put her hand over mine.

"It's totally fine I get it. Hey do you still want to hang out? We can go to the book store after the case?" She said trying to avoid the fact that I seemed mad this morning.
