The Night We Met

Chapter 8

Oh my gosh, Jace the guy who I almost kissed in the closet playing 7 Minutes in Heaven is Mr. Villa's stepson. I mean I know that he and Mrs. Villa had a son I didn't know that it would be a step-kid and I didn't think that it could be JACE. 

"Aspen?" Ms. Villa called out snapping back into reality. 

"Yes, oh umm I'm sorry"  

"Here come on in," he guides me into the house with one hand on my back.  

As I walk into the house it looks so much different than it did last night. It looks like a home that needed a bit more cleaning but it was a home, rather than a nasty frat house. However, there are still no pictures but the wedding picture of Mr. and Mrs. Villa hanging up next to the staircase. 

"Sorry for the mess Jace threw a party last night without our knowledge." My eyes grew big and I  smiled and nodded my head. "Would you like anything like some water or something," Mr. Villa shouts from the kitchen. 

"Umm yes please water would be great thanks," I needed something to drink as my mouth was extremely dry due to my nervousness. Mr. Villa came back with a bottle of ice-cold water and handed it to me.

"Here sit I'm sure Jace will be here soon, he left last night we kinda had a little,....disagreement" he shakes his head.

"Honey who is here" I hear Mrs. Villa shout from up the stairs.

"Oh, honey it's Aspen come down and say hi" he turned to me and smiled. Before Mrs. Villa comes down the stairs I try to smooth my clothes out and look somewhat presentable and not like I just rolled out of the deep slumber of my bed. 

"Oh, my gosh Aspen what a surprise to see such a beautiful face this morning...Hi, honey how are you?" Mrs. Villa hugs me.

"I'm well thank you I'm sorry for my appearance I-.."

"Oh no stop you look comfy and beautiful there's not a lot of people who can pull that off." she smiled and looked at her husband. "So did your mom send you?" Mrs. Villa asked

"Oh no I was here to see Jace I left my keys here yesterday" I had such an awkward smile on my face this whole situation was just horrible. I was just hoping that they didn't get upset with me for attending the party.

"Oh okay..wait you were at the party that he threw?" she looks confused. Oh god, I shouldn't have said that I'm not going to lie to them,...well, I can't they already knew how else would he have my keys.

"Yes, I'm so sorry I had no idea that he wasn't supposed to have that party and I didn't even want to go to the party, see my friend begged me and..." I was waving my hands and ranting frantically like normal. I was trying to explain my reasoning to the Villa's and hope that they didn't hate me for coming to the party that their son threw without their knowledge. 

"Honey, Honey it's okay we're not mad we already talked to Jace about it."

"Yes he knows the rules, and you don't worry Aspen your mom will never, know," Mr. Villa says and looks at Victoria as she gestures that her lips would be sealed. I nod my head, we talked for hours, and Victoria even got out her photo album to show me some pictures of her and Arlo's wedding. She looked so beautiful, her dress was white and fitted with a long train that followed miles behind her. 

"You look so beautiful, Mrs. Villa" 

"Why thank you, Aspen," she smiled and hugged me as we were sitting on the couch.

"What is she doing here" I heard a very familiar voice come from the front door as I turned around it was him. Jace had finally come home and he looked just as good maybe even better than he looked yesterday as he walked up to me it was like I was losing my breath and it became hard to breathe.
