Chapter 47: Aspen

I couldn't believe what just happened I was walking back and forward trying to wrap my mind around everything. How did I become the bad guy in this whole situation? What did I say to trigger Jace?  I was racking my brain for what felt like hours to get an answer on what had just happened and why. Tonight wasn't supposed to be like this, it was supposed to be a perfect night. We had just come back from an amazing getaway and we were fine, he was fine what happened in the last couple of hours that we were together that made him so angry?  "Hey Aspen what are you doing..oh my gosh are you ok?" Journey looked at me and I looked at him and it was like he already knew. He sat next to me and laid my head on his shoulder. Without even having to tell him he knew. I buried my head in his shoulder and cried. I was angry, sad, embarrassed everything you can think of is what I was feeling. "Let me take you home" Journey stood me up from the bench and walked me to his car. 

The ride to my house was quiet we didn't talk and he didn't try to ask me what happened. "What's with all of this traffic" Journey hits his steering wheel "It looks like there was an accident," I said trying to look past the cars in front of us. "Oh shit yeah, I pretty bad one" Journey quietly said as we were passing. I couldn't look anymore I was just hoping that everyone was ok. "Home sweet home" Journey was smiling I could tell by the way he said it I was looking down at my hands in disbelief. "It will get better" he touched my shoulders and I looked at him and shook my head. "No, I don't think it will," I said looking out of the front window of Journey's car. " He put his head down and sighed. "He's my best friend but when he drinks he's a different person." "Tell me about it" we both laughed. I don't know why we were laughing but we were. "Ugh, what's wrong with us" I looked at Journey with a smile and he shrugged his shoulders. As he was getting ready to say something his phone rang. "It's your mom," he said showing me his phone." 

I looked at his phone and then looked at him. Why was my mom calling Journey? "Answer it," I said in a quiet voice and he put the phone on speaker. "Hey, Ms. McCalister how are you-" Journey gets stopped in his tracks. "Where is Aspen Journey," my mom said cutting Journey off. "I'm right here Mom what's going on," I said grabbing the phone. My mom has never been so rude when talking to someone, something had to be going on. 

"Aspen listen to me very carefully I need you to meet me at the hospital" she sounded very concerned. "Ok but what's going on," I said and Journey started the car. "It's your sister, there was an accident." 

This is the last chapter of The Night We Met !!!! I am currently working on the second book and the first couple of chapters will be published soon!!!!
