The Night We Met

Chapter 35: Aspen

Walking into Professor Hamilton's class I was hoping that Jace just decided not to come into class today. Just my luck as soon as I walk in I see him sitting in his usual spot in the back of the class right by the door. I walk by him as fast as I can made and mdae my way to the front of the room. 

"Good morning class so we will be partnering up to write a outline on Emma it is due by the end of class so everyone get to it" professor Hamilton made his was back to his desk and the class scattered around to find someone to work with. 

"Hey you want to work together?" I felt a soft tap on my shoulder and as I look up I see a tall guys with curly hair and the most beautiful dark chocolate color skin. He was so beautiful it was hard for me to take my eyes off of him. 

"Umm yeah, yes of course" I nervously gathered all of my belongings that was sprawled all over the chair next to me so that he can sit down.

"You new here I've never seen you before" he smiled and took out his laptop. 

"um yeah well kinda of like I lived in orgean my whole life but I moved to New York for a bit fir college with my dad," 

"Newyork wow what made you come back here if you don't mind me asking" 

I didnt want to tell him the real reason so I made up a lie. 

"Umm I wasn't in a really goo space there so I needed to come back home to level myself back out" I smiled and turned my head toward my computer hoping that he didnt ask anymore questions. 

"I feel that, so lets get started on this outline shall we" we both laughed and began our work. We worked and talked sometimes about the book and other times just about life and college and what we wanted to do after we graduate. It was nice to be able to talk to someone about normal things with out an argument or trying to hold back my personality so it doesn't come off as too over baring.  We were laughing so hard at times that we both forgot that we were in class and had to catch ourselves. Occasionally I will spot Jace looking back at us throwing daggers with is eyes but I didnt care I felt free it was nice. 

"So I never got your name," I looked at him and he laughed. "oh yeah well I guess I forgot that part of the introduction I'm Kahlid." Kahlid why does that name sound so familiar. I searched my brain trying to figure out where I have heard his name before and then it hit me his is Keva's twin brother. 

"Wait omg you're Keva's brother right" I smiled and he laugh and held his head down. "Yeah that me I try to not let everyone know that because she is kinda,..." I knew exactly what he meant Keva had a reputation and although I do love her it dosnet hid that fact that she is know for some pretty horrible things. 

"Well you secret is safe with me" I giggle and nudje him with my shoulder.
