Third Person's POV
"So....... Are your parents home?"
Sunghoon opened another topic. Jake halted on his tracks. Sunghoon followed him, surprised.
'Did I do something? He's...... Hurt...... I can feel it....Why baby? What's wrong..'
Thousand of thoughts are running on Sunghoon's mind. As he can feel his emotions through his scent, he knows that his mate is hurt. 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘺.
"O-oh? My p-parents?"
Jake stuttered as he continued walking. It was evident on the man's face that he was uncomfortable. He started to grip the strap of his bag a lot tighter.
'It's okay Jake. It's okay. He's just asking. He doesn't know.'
Nobody knows what had happened 7 years ago. It's just Jake and their relatives. They just told everyone that his parents are dead. And that's it.
Jake is staying alone. He's at their old house. Even if his relatives wants him to move with them and even move back to Australia, he insisted to stay. 𝘏𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯.
'It's alright. It's alright. Just tell him what you used to say every single time. And that's it. Do it Jake.'
Sunghoon stared at him. As the moments pass, he can feel him get sadder and lonelier. He can feel his pain. And it's killing him inside.
'What happened to you?'
"Hey?"
He snapped his hand in front of Jake. The man woke up from his senses.
"Sorry? You were saying?"
"Never mind. You don't need to say it if you're uncomfortable."
Jake looked at him. For the first time, someone didn't pushed the topic about his parents.
'Why? It's not like he understands me, right?'
"My parents are......... Gone. They left me already."
Jake whispered. It was so faint but Sunghoon is so attentive to him. He looked at him.
'Sunghoon. What kind of question was that.'
"Oh. Sorry I had to bring it up. Let's just forget I asked about it."
Sunghoon spoke at him, now it was Jake's turn to smile. And of course, Sunghoon melted to it.
"Well. Here we are. Thank you for walking along with me. You don't have to but yeah. Thanks."
Jake said as he went to open their gate. Once inside, he looked at Sunghoon on the other side.
'Why do I feel like you need me?'
Disregarding his thought, he waved a hand and turned back.
"Jake wait!"
Jake looked back, faster than he thought.
'Why am I so excited?'
"I haven't introduced myself yet."
Jake took steps closer. The gate was in between them. Sunghoon managed to insert his hand in between the bars.
"I know you know me already but. I'm Sunghoon. Park Sunghoon."
Jake looked at his hand, before looking at him. He extended his as he spoke.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Jake. Shim Jake."
And that's where Sunghoon lost it. He felt the sparks with their sudden skin ship.
'It's different from the hug. But this is amazing.'
"Uhm. Sunghoon? You can let go of my hand now."
That's when Sunghoon realized that he's still holding Jake's hand. He let it go as he smiled sheepishly.
"Sorry."
'𝘐𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦.'
"It's alright. So I'll go inside? You go home too. Thank you again."
Jake said waving. Sunghoon waited for him to enter inside before walking away. Walking to the woods, he looked at his hand.
'This is what it feels like to have a mate. This is wonderful.'
He smiled to himself as he continued walking towards their home. Inside the forest. Yes, they live inside the forest.
