35-To Live

Third Person's POV

"JAKE"

Sunghoon held him, lightly tapping his face, he spoke.

"Jake? B-baby. Hey. Look at me."

Jake fluttered his eyes, raising his hand, he held Sunghoon's face.

"Hoonie?"

Sunghoon smiled, tears are falling on his face.

"Yes baby this is your Hoonie. Hang in there okay? We'll save you."

Jake smiled. He took deep breaths.

"I'm sleepy."

"Don't sleep baby. Please don't."

"Sapphire. Please help us."

"I called the car. Let's get him back to the clan."

Sunghoon turned back to Jake who is still caressing his face. Slowly and slowly. Then he stopped. His arm fell on his side as he closed his eyes.

"Jake? Jake no. No please don't."

Sunghoon looked at Sapphire. She signalled her assistant to help carry Jake.

Entering the car, Sunghoon held Jake's hand tight.

"J-Jake. Please don't leave me. I-I love you. P-please."

Sapphire looked at him.

"You know what he's not going to make it right?"

"Then why do you still want him to be back in the clan? No. He's going to live."

"He will."

Sunghoon turned to her.

"How? Tell me. How?"

Sapphire looked at him.

"Mark him."

They arrived in their clan. Positioning him in the bed, they started the surgery with their doctor.

Their only goal was to remove the bullet in his heart. The next process is up to Sunghoon.

After successfully removing the bullet, Sunghoon was left alone with Jake. He stared at him. Tears forming in his eyes.

"Baby I'm sorry if I'll do this without you knowing. I love you and I want you to live. Please live with me Jake."

Gently, he held Jake's wrist. The cuts was still evident. Targeting exactly on his pulse, he let his fangs appear.

He positioned them on his wrist as he bit him. Carefully gripping his arms. He wiped his lips as his eyes started to turn red.

"You will live. You will live with me."

Approaching him, he carefully exposed his neck.

'I never thought that I'll do this not because you told me to but because I need to save you. I'm sorry baby.'

Finding the right angle, Sunghoon opened his mouth, he started to mark Jake.

He felt him move suddenly. He shivered.

'It's working.'

Finishing the process, he stared at his mark.

'That's going to be a pretty tattoo soon.'

He sat on his bed as he caressed Jake's face.

'I can't wait for you to wake up.'

But days turned to weeks. And weeks turned to months. And months turned to a year. And another year.

'It's been two years.'

They are now in their college. He's pursuing visual arts.

'The course that Jake wants.'

He still waits for Jake. They never questioned him as every single day, Jake is showing signs of waking up. Even if it's only little by little, it adds hope to Sunghoon.

Hoping that he will live.

"Hi baby. Uhm. Today's my birthday again."

Sunghoon stared at him. He held his hand.

"I miss you so much already. Come back to me now. Please."

"You won't leave me right?"

He stared at him.

"I'm sorry you need to go through this. I know we're not yet sure if you'll live, b-but I'm hoping Jake. And I will never stop hoping."

Tears build on his eyes. He wiped them.

"Just come back to me. That's just it. I know I don't deserve you. But I love you. And I'm willing to risk everything. J-just live."

And like the happenings for the past two years, he cried to his sleep. Holding Jake's hand.

Slowly, Jake opened his eyes. His eyes stared at the ceiling. He feels nothing. Instead he smelled something.

'Lavender?'

He turned his look to his side, feeling someone holding his hand, he looked at the figure.

'Sunghoon?'

He held his hand back. Sunghoon felt someone gripping him, looking up, he saw Jake, staring at him.

"Jake?"

He removed his hand. He blinked.

"Is this real?"

Jake smiled at him before nodding.

"I'm back?"

Not able to stop himself, he rushed to him. Hugging him tight.

"Hey"

"I missed you so much."

He looked at him. Holding his hand again, he kissed it.

"I love you. I really do."

Jake smiled at him.

"I know. And I love you too mate."

Sunghoon looked at him. And he saw what changed.

Jake's eyes are glowing. From gold to red.

'My mate's a vampire now.'
