(3rd Person)

Denki had stayed up all night working on his english project. They had to write a poem to show their expression and how they feel, they had to make it meaningful.

And that was difficult for the blonde as he smacked his pencil on his head, trying to think. This was due tomorrow and his grade was already crying. However, Present Mic had said if he got the best grade in class, it'd bring it up at least 2 letters and he'd be at an A.

This was really important to him and he just needed the grade. He had ditched all his friends and he could feel Bakugou smirk at that.

'Good, maybe he'll think I'm not that dumb after all. I have to make him proud or he'll leave me.' Denki thought as he leaned back in his chair and hung up the phone.

This sucked, but he got to work anyway.

...

"Good morning class!" The teacher had announced way too happily as he sat at his desk. "We're gonna start by presenting. First, I'll have Kaminari go up because I'm super confident in his work!"

Everyone snickered, well most of everyone. He heard the whispers, the side comments, he heard it all. He saw the looks of doubt and slumped back in his seat.

"Sir, can I please go last?"

"Nonsense!"

He groaned, getting his paper out as slow as possible. Students around him began whispering.

"He probably forgot it."

"Forgot it? Bet you five bucks he didn't even do it."

"You're on!"

"Better have your five bucks ready because he never does his work, he's slow in the head."

"Hey, that's a little harsh."

"Okay, fine."

"Even if he did do it, I bet it's about girls and all perverted and gross."

"Haha shut the fuck up, the teacher's looking at us."

Kaminari stood up from his seat, ignoring the stares he was getting from his classmates.

"Are you ready?"

"Yes." Kaminari began, standing in front of the room as he looked down at his paper. "Friends can break your heart too. They can take it, crush it up until thousands of pieces. And they can do it again. They can take your trust and throw it away. They can do everything they promised they wouldn't. They break you until you're begging to be left alone by them so that you don't have to live with the guilt of leaving them. Because you get that quote, 'Don't feel sad over someone who gave up on you, feel sorry for them because they gave up on someone who would have never given up on them.' But you let go first and now you start to feel like you never cared enough to keep the friendship going when you know you did, you've just grown tired of trying to fix everything only to have nothing actually get fixed and more like getting worse. That ending the friendship will make you feel better because you're tired of feeling sad and empty, that it might be the only way out. So you give them reasons and you change the way you act so that one day, they'll finally leave you and you didn't have to feel sorry because you were the one to do it. No one wants to feel sorry. But it doesn't exactly work like that especially when you both don't want the title of, 'the one who ended it.' So you're stuck in a loop. Until you finally decide to break. You tell them how you feel, shouting happens, fights/arguments. Ugh. And you're the one that ends it. And now it feels horrible and you have the title so that person can go around saying, 'Well she ended it first, I tried to keep the friendship going.' And now you're the bad guy. I'm not that bad guy, at least I don't think I am. But why does it feel like that after I ended it? Who knows, but I'm done pretending like it's not bothering me anymore. For now, the saying for people like me should be, 'Don't feel bad about giving up on someone who gave you the reason to give up on them.' Because it's not your fault. You may think of me as overdramatic right now but one day, you'll understand where I'm coming from. One day, we'll laugh at this."

He finished, going back over to his seat and sat down. And before he knew it, class was over.

Denki made his way back to the dorms, listening the whispers about him. Of course they continued.

"He thinks he's so smart."

"Probably got it from google."

Kaminari ignored them, finally making it his dorm and shutting it behind him.

Immediately, there was a knock.

"Kaminari, baby. Open the door, talk to us." Kirishima pleaded as he jiggled the door handle. "Please."

"Go away, Kiri." He knew Bakugou was probably on the other side, waiting to yell at him. Honestly, he didn't wanna deal with it.

"Dunce face, open the door."

For some reason, Kaminari had opened it and Kirishima rushed in, hugging the other.

Bakugou walked in, shutting the door behind him as he sat on the bed. "Mic wanted us to tell you about your grade. You did an outstanding job in his words. Nice job, Pikachu."

"You did a great job, but your poem made me sad!" Kirshima spoked as he sat on the bed, leaning his head against Bakugou's shoulder, looking over at his boyfriend.

"Not everything's gonna make you happy."

"Did we do something?" Bakugou asked, catching the other man off guard.

"I-- No." Denki spoke for a second, glaring a the laughter that echoed from outside of his dorm. "The poem wasn't about you."

"Oh.." Kirishima mumbled as he looked at the floor.

Bakugou grumbled something, reaching up for the other. "Come here."

Kaminari didn't hesitate to move forward, loving the feeling he got when someone other than his family held onto him.

"You're gonna be okay."

"No I'm not."

"Yes you will." Bakugou buried his nose in the top of the blonde's hair in an attempt to comfort him. "You're gonna be okay."

Kirishima interlocked his fingers with the smaller and placed a soft kiss on the top of his hand.
