Sero woke up to an empty bed. The room was suddenly colder than before and his window was left open. Where's Denki?

He got up from his bed and walked over to close it, only to notice the bathroom door to his and his boyfriend's apartment was cracked open.

Knowing where his boyfriend was put Sero at ease as he shut and locked the window before making his way over to the door.

"Denki? Baby, are you okay?" Sero softly spoke from the other side of the door, not wanting to invade his boyfriend's privacy.

"H-Hanta.... I can't.." His voice came out hoarse and strained.

"Denki?? Are you okay?" Sero suddenly felt dread wash over him as he opened the door, looking around for the blonde. "What can't you do?"

"Bre--reathe.." Kaminari was sitting on the ground, near the tub as he fell into a coughing fit.

Sero immediately picked the blonde up and walked him over to the bed, trying to calm him down so he could figure out exactly what was going on. "Talk to me. What're you feeling right now?"

No answer, Kaminari was getting pale by the second.

"Denki. Please, baby." Sero ran his fingers through the blonde hair as he took out his phone to call the ambulance.

"..hurts. It hurts to breathe." Kaminari was crying against his boyfriend's shoulder, heaving, as he tried breathe normally. His sobs only got louder every time he inhaled, feeling the sharp pain in his chest was unbearable.

But Sero was here now. So everything will be okay because they're together again. So why isn't the pain going away yet?

"They're on their way. Just please try to calm down. Everything's going to be alright soon, I'm here now." Sero was beginning to cry, hating how he had to see his boyfriend in pain and not be able to do anything about it.

"I.. I tried to wake you up when it h-happened.." Another sob. But this time, the pain wasn't as bad. "..but you were--"

"I know. I know, Denki." Sero gripped the blonde's hand, attempting to comfort him. "I'm sorry, baby. I know it hurts, just hold my hand. They're almost here, you'll be okay, Denki..."

Not long after, the ambulance had arrived and took them both to the hospital with Kaminari refusing to let go of his boyfriend's hand.

Eventually, they had to separate so he could be taken care of. Leaving Sero alone in the waiting room.

Time seemed to go by a lot slower after that. Not knowing if his boyfriend would be okay or not. But the sound of the door opening and the look on the doctors face told him otherwise.

"Sero Hanta?"

"Yes? Is he okay? Is he awake? Can I see him?" Question after question left the taller males mouth as more tears threatened to fall.

"I'm sorry.." The doctor began, avoiding eye contact with the other. "Lung cancer. It's too late to be treated.."

Sero never would have thought a few words could change his life forever, but here he is.

"....how long does.. he have..?" This time, he didn't bother to stop the tears from coming as he fell to his knees, digging his fingers into the ground beneath him.
