   Todoroki sat underneath the tree, waiting for his mom to call him inside for dinner. There was nothing really special about the place he was at, besides the fact that the beauty of it appeared to be invisible to everyone else but him.

   A few months ago, he tried taking his mom here to show her how beautiful it was, but all she did was make a disgusted face and walk back into the house. He could never really understand what it was that his mom had found so disturbing.

   Maybe he was the only one that found the lake to be so mesmerizing? Or maybe it was because his oldest brother had 'drowned' here.

   It was said that he had wandered close to the edge, lost his balance, and fell into the water while his mom was setting up their picnic. His dad, on the other hand, was sitting on the bench, not bothering to check on his own kids as they played near the body of water.

   But his body was never found, so Todoroki didn't believe that his older brother had drowned that day.

   Ever since that day, his mom forbid him and his siblings from going near the lake under any circumstances.

   Todoroki sat there, under a tree a few ways from his home while reading a book, not really paying attention to what was going on around him before he noticed someone in the corner of his eye.

   Looking up from his book, the small child stood up and began walking in the direction he saw the figure.

   He came across the 'forbidden' lake and noticed a boy who looked to be around the same age as him, sitting on the deck with his feet dangling in the water.

   From where Todoroki was standing, the boy appeared to be a lot shorter than him with green, messy hair. The 10 year old walked closer to the stranger, only to stop in his tracks when the boy turned around.

   From how close he was, and with the smaller boy looking directly at him, Todoroki took in the small details that were present. He had freckles that decorated his face, perfectly, with the brightest green eyes he's ever seen.

   The taller boy blushed at the sight and looked away before talking to the stranger, "Uhm..Hi. Who are you?"

   The smaller boy smiled and stood up, before reaching his hand out. "Hi! My name's Izuku Midoriya, I just moved in down the street!"

   Todoroki hesitantly took Midoriya's hand and shook it before introducing himself. "Hey..I'm Shoto Todoroki."

   As time went on, the two kids would meet each other after school to hang out and just get away from everything.

   It's been 4 years since they've met, and they still have hanging out, under a tree by the lake.

   Midoriya sat with his notebook, waiting for the taller male to come by.

   About 10 minutes have passed and Todoroki finally showed up, apologizing for being late before taking a seat next to the green eyed boy.

   "Hey! What took you so long?" Midoriya asked, closing his notebook and setting it aside. Todoroki averted his gaze and sighed.

   "Yeah, sorry about that. My dad's being an ass again."

   "Oh, I'm sorry. I guess people really can't change.." Midoriya's voice trailed off, as he felt bad for the other male.

   "Yeah, anyways, what are you working on?" Todoroki spoke, gesturing to the notebook that sat at Midoriya's side.

   "Oh, just some homework!"
