Cordelia sat alone in the den with a fuzzy blanket wrapped around her and a thermos full of whiskey. Narcissa thinks she's been sipping on tea all morning. Narcissa is currently out at the market with Andromeda so Cordelia has the place to herself right now.
The fire she sat in front of crackled shooting embers into the thick air in the small room. Her tear stained eyes watched as the flame rippled in the air as that piece of junk radio sat beside her playing oldies music.
'We'll meet again.' By Vera Lynn played on the radio. Cordelia turned her head to the radio before cranking it up louder.
She listened to the lyrics closely as it flowed through her ears. Cordelia stared blankly at the buzzing machine with droopy eyes with her heart breaking over and over again as her only thoughts circled around Harry.
"....We'll meet again...don't know where...don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day..." The radio buzzed.
Cordelia sat down her thermos and stood up from her seat on the couch letting her blanket fall off of her. She gripped onto the handle of the radio and walked up to the tall fireplace before she threw it into the tall fire place with no hesitation.
The wood and charcoal crumbled and she watched as the radio catch flame. The radio still continued to play the song but the audio was more scratchy and eerie.
Cordelia grabbed a log and threw it onto the radio crushing it and the song finally came to a stop. The reflection of the fire shined upon her face as she stared down at the blazing fire.
The hot temperatures burned her gray eyes making them water. She listened as the door opened and two pairs of heels walking on the hard marble back towards the kitchen. Cordelia turned around and grabbed onto her blanket wrapping it back around herself.
She walked out to the large kitchen where they carried in large paper bags setting them onto the island counter. Andromeda grinned and waved at Cordelia.
"Good morning hun. Did you sleep any?" Narcissa asked pulling out multiple green apples out of the brown bag resting it in a bowl at the center of the island.
Cordelia nodded in response and sat at one of the swivel chairs at the island. Narcissa picked up her chin turning to Cordelia surprised.
"Really?" Ms. Black asked her. Cordelia nodded again grabbing onto an apple.
"Yeah..yeah I actually did." Cordelia chuckled brushing her thumb over the waxy skin of the apple.
"Dream about anything?" Andromeda asked Cordelia. She shook her head shrugging her shoulders.
"We saw Granger down at the market with that one Weasley." Narcissa said setting her hands on the table taking a deep breath. Cordelia picked her head up and looked at Narcissa.
"Yeah?"
"They're worried about you Cory. They think you're dead!" Narcissa lectured her. Cordelia looked away from her back down at the apple. Andromeda washed of vegetables awkwardly listening in.
"What did they say?" Cordelia asked. Narcissa took a deep breath and leaned against the counter.
"They asked how you were and if you got their letters- and I know did." Narcissa raised an eyebrow staring at Cordelia.
She scoffed standing up from the chair putting the apple back into the bowl on the counter. Cordelia wrapped the blanket around her shoulders tighter before going back up to her room.
