At this point, you had lost Kokichi and Kath somewhere in the crowd as they made their way through. You didn't know what kind of 'better idea' Kokichi had, but you knew it wouldn't be anything good. All you knew is that now you had a strong resentment for Rika. It was time for lesson soon and you still had no idea who any of your classmates were. You hadn't really stopped to talk to anyone else after the whole fight earlier.

"Hey! Hey!" You heard someone call out. "(Y/N)!" The person yelled. You whipped your head around to see Liv and Olli running towards you. You looked further and saw Kirumi and Kiyo heading your way too. Kiyo! Oh thank God! You smiled and walked towards them.

"Hi guys!" You said as enthusiastically as you could muster. Olivia looked at you with a smirk.

"What was that fight earlier? Seemed interesting! I'm mad that I missed it!" She said with a big smile. Why is she so excited about this? You sighed and shook your head.

"Let's not talk about it... I'm sure Kath has enough problems-" You began to speak.

"Kath? Kath!? She was the one in that fight!?" Liv yelled in disbelief. "Where is this idiot!? Getting into a fight on the first day..."

"I don't know where she is. I lost her in the crowd and now I have no idea where she could be." You sighed. "But it's fine. It was because of the other girl. Rika Takahashi." You looked up and noticed the expression on Kiyo's face change. He looked shocked and you knew he recognised the name.

"Okay but..." Olivia spoke up again. Everyone looked at her. "...who won?"

You stood there silently, not really having thought about who won the fight, since it was split up pretty quickly. You were sure, however, that Kath had landed the most punches.

"Um... I'm pretty sure Kath got the most hits in." You responded, not really sounding sure. But that was enough for the two girls apparently because they both said 'Yes!' under their breath.

"(Y/N), are you alright? You look hurt. Were you part of the fight?" Kirumi questioned in a concerned tone. To be honest, you had forgotten she was even there. She had been so quiet this entire time.

"No, I was just kinda there, but I was part of the reason this whole thing started. Let's not talk about it though, we've gotta get to class soon!" You tried to change the atmosphere, hoping to move on from the subject. Everyone seemed to agree and headed into the building.

"Hey, who's in group 2?" Liv questioned, staring at her schedule. Olivia smirked and raised her hand.

"Me! Are we gonna be in the same class!?" She inquired excitedly.

"No, I just asked because I wanted to. Obviously we are!" Liv sighed. So the sarcasm was genetic, huh... You looked at your schedule, noticing you were in group 1. So neither Liv nor Olivia were in your class.

"I'm in group 1, so I'm not with you guys." You said, not looking up from your schedule. Your homeroom was just down the hall.

"I am also in group 1." You heard Kiyo speak.

"Me too." Kirumi added.

"Oh, cool! We're all in room 1-a then!" You smiled wide. Your mind wandered to Kath. What group was she in? You hoped she was in yours, but you couldn't ask her. She was still somewhere with Kokichi. Hopefully they would get back soon.

"I think I see our classroom! See ya!" Liv said, grabbing Olivia by the arm and dragging her off past your classroom. You glanced at the group of people outside the room, recognising some people. Unfortunately, two of them were Rika's friends; Angie and Miu. You cursed under your breath, almost wanting to turn around and leave, but you knew there was no point. You got in on a full scholarship, so there was no way you were giving up this opportunity. 

"Well, let's go I guess." You uttered nervously, walking over to the group of people. Suddenly, you noticed someone. It was Shuichi!

"Hi!" You said, walking over to him, Kiyo and Kirumi following behind you.

"Oh! Hey!" He jumped a little. You had only now noticed he was talking to someone. She semed familiar, though you couldn't figure out who she was. Blonde hair with white hair clips, wearing a light pink vest...

"Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt you, haha..." You backed away a little, hoping she wasn't anything like Rika.

"Oh, don't worry!" She said cheerfully. "Are you two friends?"

"I mean, we only bumped into each other once-" You tried to say.

"Oh my gosh! Shuichi! You made a friend without me! I'm so proud of you!" The girl exclaimed in excitement. Her cheerfulness reminded you of Kath, and that made you feel a bit more comfortable around her. Maybe everything would be fine after all.

"Kaede..." Shuichi muttered, flustered. Wait... Kaede? That's right! It's Kaede Akamatsu!

"Oh! You're Kaede Akamatsu, Ultimate Pianist, right?" You half asked, half stated.

"Yeah, that's me! And you?"

"I'm (Y/N) (L/N), Ultimate Marine Biologist. You probably don't know me, but that's me!" You said with a large smile. Suddenly you felt a tap on your shoulder. Turning to face whoever it was, you noticed it was Miu. Oh no. No no no.

"Hey there, ya little skank! What makes you think you can just stand here and be all happy after what happened, huh!?" She said, an evil smile on her face.

"I... uh..." You struggled for words, not really wanting to say anything, but at the same time wanting to stand up for yourself. "You know what?" You had a sudden burst of courage, and some anger due to the insults and the fight. "I can do what I want! Just because I didn't stand up for myself earlier doesn't mean you can be such a bitch to me!" You snapped. At this point, the chatter amongst groups ceased and everyone's eyes were on you. A bit of fear flashed in your eyes, as Miu scowled.

"Did you just call me a bitch!? Huh!? Wanna say that again!?" She snapped back, getting in your face. "I'm probably the most fuckin' talented person here ya little abortion! No one even knows you, but they know me!" She was getting uncomfortably close to you at this point. You turned to look at everyone else. Kaede stood there, mouth agape as if she couldn't believe what Miu was saying, while Shuichi was looking away uncomfortably. Suddenly, you were shoved into him. "Go on! Say something!" She yelled.

"Do not." You heard Kiyo say as he firmly gripped Miu's shoulder. "Touch her. Ever again." He stated in an intimidating way. His tall frame and sharp glare must have scared Miu, because she shoved his hand off her shoulder and walked off in the direction of Angie without another word. Everyone slowly returned to their own conversations. You were shocked. You had never seen Kiyo this angry before.

"Uh, are you okay?" Shuichi questioned, looking at you.

"Yeah, I'm fine..." You sighed, turning to Kiyo. "You... you really didn't have to do that Kiyo, but... thanks."

"Do not think about it too much. I was merely defending my friend." He said, his entire demeanour changing. You sighed, walking up to him and hugging him.

"I really missed having you around." You muttered.

"Woah, get a room you two!" You heard Kokichi laughing in the distance. Jumping a little, you pulled away quickly.

"Where's Kath!?" You asked him. He giggled like a child.

"She's talking with a friend about my cool idea! But anyways, I'm in this class. Glad to see that we've got that... uh... goblin shark or whatever to annoy!" He smirked. Suddenly, the door was opened by the teacher. It was Mr Bird! He was your homeroom teacher? God, you could barely remember the open day because of the fire.

"Come on in guys, let's start the day!" He said, motioning for you to enter the classroom.
