Graduation day came sooner than expected. It really felt like you had just first met Katherine on that bench, and you could see it as you walked into the school. A bright smile stretched across your face as you observed the school. It was over. This was really it.

"Hey, what the hell? You didn't wait for us!" You heard Kath say as she ran towards you, dragging Takuya along with her. Soon they stood by your side, looking at the building.

"Can you guys believe it's over? I feel like I only just started going here." You sighed, closing your eyes and stepping onto the school grounds. You decided to enjoy it while you could.

"Yeah, and we're getting our letters from the academy today! We'll know if we got in or not!" Kath squealed with joy, embracing you. You hugged back as Takuya awkwardly stood next to you, watching as you shared a moment.

"Alright, we better get to the gym now. We can't be late for our own graduation guys!" You laughed and began making your way to the gym.

Soon, there you were, receiving your diploma and your grades. You were quite surprised by how well you did, but it was a good thing, so you didn't mind. Katherine received her grades and diploma after you and you both looked at each other with smiles on your faces. Takuya didn't look so happy after glancing at his grades.

"Oh man! Look at these! They're so bad!" Takuya whined after the ceremony was over. You took a look at the piece of paper in his hand.

"Hey, they're not that bad..." You smiled at him and patted him on the back. Once again, your eyes travelled between somewhat familiar faces and you noted how they were all smiling at each other. There were of course the few crying girls, but that was to be expected. Most people would probably drift apart after leaving. It really was quite sad. You just hoped you and Kath wouldn't be among that group.

The day was soon over, with people signing each other's shirts as a way to remember each other. As all three of you were making your way home, you felt someone bump into you. As you looked at the person who bumped into you, you froze. He gave you a cold stare and you could see a slight smile on his face. You recognised him. It was the same man that had attacked you back at your old house.

"Kath, do you know any shortcuts to my street?" You asked, not looking away from the man. Kath must have noticed that you had turned a little pale and grabbed you, dragging you and Takuya in a different direction. Once you had walked for a bit, she stopped you and placed a hand on your shoulder.

"You okay? You look like you've seen a ghost!" She asked. You sighed and thought for a bit. Should you tell her? But then she'll act differently around you. It could give you away! But she wouldn't leave you alone if you didn't tell her.

"Well... come to my house and I'll tell you." You explained.

"Okay." And with that, you continued to follow Kath down the shortcut.

"Bye Takuya!" You said as you waved him off, watching him disappear around the corner. You looked over at Kath, who had a confused and concerned expression on her face.

"What happened?" She asked.

"Well... I-"

"Hey, (Y/N)! You're here! Come in, there's a letter here for you and we're all dying to know what it says!" Hiroya swung the door open as Toichi and Naoki peeked out of the living room.

"Oh, umm... okay? Why didn't you guys just open it?" You asked. Was this the letter from the academy? Kath looked overjoyed.

"Because it says 'confidential' on it and we thought you should open your own damn letter." Naoki said loudly from behind Hiroya.

"Hey, call me later, okay? I'm kind of excited to see my own letter now." Kath smiled. "You can tell me everything later." And with that, she was off in the direction of her house.

"Okay, I'll open it for you guys." You shook your head and entered your house, closing the door behind you. Toichi awkwardly handed you the letter. The envelope was really pretty and it was clearly addressed to you. Maybe this really was the letter from the academy! You carefully opened the envelope and took out the letter. You began reading it out.

"Dear Miss (Y/N) (L/N), we at the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles are very careful and precise when it comes to selecting our students and read each application carefully. We are happy to say that you have been accepted! We are fully aware that the costs of the education at our academy can be quite high, so a select few students will receive full scholarships.

We have received your grades already and think they are outstanding, which leads us to believe you will be passionate in your future studies. We are aware you do not come from a rich background, therefore we would like to offer you a full scholarship to get into our academy.

We hope to see you at our open day so that you can become familiar with the building and departments. If need-be, you will be provided with accommodation located on the school grounds, which will be covered by your scholarship.

Yours sincerely, Headmaster Monokuma.

And there's a signature at the bottom." You smiled wide. Your brothers cheered and your mother ran up to hug you.

"I knew you could get in! I believed in you the whole time!" Your mother said, sobbing from happiness. As soon as she let go, your brothers handed you a small cake.

"Hey, I thought you guys didn't know what the letter said." You laughed.

"We didn't. We prepared just in case." Naoki smiled, drinking more green tea. You swore he didn't have that cup a second ago. You laughed again, setting the cake down at the table and going into the kitchen to get a knife to cut the cake with.

As soon as the cake was gone, you remembered that you were supposed to call Kath. You grabbed your phone and headed back to your room. You called her number, waiting for her to pick up. Soon, her voice came from the other end of the phone.

"Hey (Y/N)! Did you get in?" She asked enthusiastically. You assumed she got in too.

"Yeah, I did! I'm guessing you did as well?"

"Hell yeah! We're going together! Woo!" Kath cheered.

"We're all going!" You heard Laura's voice clearly. So you were on loud speaker. You laughed slightly and sighed.

"Okay Laura, get out. I have to settle a private matter. Shoo shoo." Kath said, followed by footsteps and a door closing. "Okay, do you want to explain the thing?"

"Uh, yeah... about that... I don't know if I should tell you. This is kind of private to only me and my family." You said sheepishly.

"Oh, that's fine. You don't have to tell me about it. I'm gonna go then. See you soon!" And with that she hung up. You sighed in relief. You felt accepted; by Kath and by the academy simultaneously.
