Before you knew it, the first day of school began. Your mother dropped you, Kath and Laura off at the entrance, waved goodbye to the three of you, and drove away. You stepped forward, looking at the building. It appeared to still be under construction, and the whole place was overgrown with all kinds of plants.

As you made your way towards the building to try to find where your first class would be, someone bumped into you. You stumbled a little and looked to see who it was, ready to apologise. You froze when you realised you were looking at the Ultimate Detective, Shuichi Saihara.

"Uh, sorry about that! I should've watched where I was going..." He stuttered. You smiled.

"Hey, no worries! I mean, I'm pretty sure it was me who walked into you anyway." You laughed a little. Suddenly, Kath jump-scared you by jumping onto you from behind.

"You're making friends without me?" She laughed, causing you to do the same. Shuichi smiled at you.

"I guess I should go... uh... see you around?" He said, rubbing the back of his neck. You nodded and he walked away, out of sight. Kath let go of you, smirking at you playfully.

"I think I scared him off!" She giggled. You frowned a little. Of course you loved Kath, she was your best friend (besides Kiyo), but you wanted to be more open with people now. She noticed the frown on your face. "Hey, you okay?" She placed a hand on your shoulder.

"I wanna make more friends. I've never really had that many." You sighed. Kath looked down.

"Sorry..." She mumbled. "I didn't know that was an important moment I guess... let's go talk to some more people, maybe?"

"Yeah, let's do that!" Your eyes lit up. You wanted to talk to the other Ultimates. You were still overwhelmed by the amount of them here. It was like a dream! You were in awe as you walked past well-known Ultimates, such as Rantaro Amami, Ultimate Adventurer, or Nila Thunderbolt, Ultimate Formula One Driver. Suddenly, you spotted someone you recognised. Was that Rika Takahashi? As in Ami's sister? "No way..." You uttered, barely loud enough for Kath to hear.

"What? Did you see something or-" Before Kath could finish, you ran towards the familiar girl. "Hey, wait!" Your friend dashed after you.

"Rika!" You yelled. The girl turned around quickly, flicking her hair out of her face and looking at you with her purple eyes. You reached her, but she looked confused. With her were Miu Iruma, Ultimate inventor, and Angie Yonaga, Ultimate Artist.

"Um... do I know you?" She questioned, a mocking look on her face. She almost looked disgusted. Was it your outfit? Was your sweater dirty? Did you definitely brush your hair this morning?

"Yeah." You spat out. "I'm (Y/N) (L/N), Ultimate Marine Biologist." You said, rubbing the back of your neck.

"...Ami's friend?" She asked, still looking at you in slight disgust.

"Yeah, that's me! How's Ami?" You questioned in response.

"Why should I tell you? It's none of your business." She snickered. Angie looked at you in awe as if she was interested in what you were saying, while Miu played with her strawberry blonde hair and snickered along with Rika.

"I-I just thought-"

"Go away, I don't wanna be seen with you. Your outfit sucks. Not a good look for the Ultimate Prom Queen!" She laughed and turned back to Miu and Angie. You felt crushed. You completely forgot that bullies existed, and you had only spoken to Rika twice before. She seemed so much worse now.

"Hey! What the hell was that about!?" Kath yelled, finally catching up to you. "I heard all of that! What's wrong with you!?" She grabbed Rika by the arm and turned her around to face her.

"Ew! Don't touch me! Do you have any idea how much these clothes cost!?" She yanked herself out of Kath's grasp. Your friend wasn't having it though.

"I don't care how much they cost, you shouldn't be such a bitch to people!"

"Oh really, what are you gonna do?"

"Kath, please... it's fine-" You tried to diffuse the situation, as more and more people noticed what was going on and began to crowd around.

"What am I gonna do? I'll show you what I'm gonna fucking do..." Kath muttered, crouched to reach the ground, picking up some mud. "Expensive, huh? I wonder if you got your money's worth. Let's see if mud comes off!" And with that, she threw the mud at Rika, hitting her frilly white shirt. Rika froze and looked down at her stained clothes.

"You... you BITCH!" She lunged at Kath, causing both of them to tumble to the ground. Everyone was beginning to chant 'Fight!' as the two girls rolled around on the ground, trying to punch each other.

"STOP THIS!" You yelled, but they weren't listening. Suddenly, a girl pushed her way through the crowd. You looked at her, but didn't recognise her. Her long brown hair was in pigtails, and her red eyes carried an intimidating glare. She grabbed Rika, who was about to punch Kath in the face, and yanked her back, throwing her off your friend.

"Stop your ridiculous feud. This is irrational." She snapped. You grabbed Kath and brought her to her feet as she panted, while Miu helped Rika up. The Ultimate Prom Queen looked like the Ultimate Dirt Bike Racer now, but Kath didn't look much better either. The red-eyed girl looked directly at you and Kath, motioning for you both to come with her. She pushed her way through the crowd again as you two followed behind her.

"Thanks for stopping the fight earlier..." You awkwardly uttered. Kath was trailing behind you silently.

"Right." The girl responded, not even turning back to face you.

"Um... what's your name?" You asked, trying to spark a conversation. You just wanted the awkward silence and tension to end.

"Maki Harukawa." She responded. Was she not going to tell you her Ultimate? You wanted to know, but she seemed annoyed. You didn't want to press her to tell you anything.

"Where are we going?" Kath questioned quietly.

"To the headmaster's office."

"What!? Why!?" She questioned again. "Are you gonna report me!?"

"Not you." Maki responded. "The other girl."

"Oh." Kath said, almost relieved. You looked back to see the crowd had already dispersed. You felt a little bad about this whole thing.

"Hey, watch it twink!" Maki snapped, as you focused on what was in front of her. Was that Kokichi?

"Twink? Wow." He giggled. "I saw what happened earlier." He smirked mischievously.

"What about it?" Kath sighed.

"You wanna report her, right?" He asked, the smirk not leaving his face. The three of you nodded. "Oh you poor, poor idiots... that's no fun! I have a better idea..." The smirk grew wider and you all looked at each other. "Follow me." Kokichi said, walking away. Kath followed immediately. You began following as well, but you noticed Maki wasn't coming with you.

"Hey Maki, are you not coming with us?" You asked.

"I don't want to be a part of this, though I will keep the secret... whatever it is. Good bye." And with that, she left. Well, okay then. You turned to follow Kath and Kokichi.
