"Why don't I start from the beginning..." He took a deep breath and started speaking. "About a week after you left, my sister's condition got even worse. She became comatose and two months later she died." He explained. Your eyes widened.
"Seriously? Oh my God... I feel so bad for you!" You placed a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to comfort him.
"That's not the only thing that happened." He looked down at the ground. "I became really quiet after everything that had transpired. And as expected, people started to target me." He looked back to you. "They would corner me outside of the school and such other places. I simply told them to leave me alone, but they didn't seem to listen."
"I'm so sorry... I didn't know that me leaving would do that..." You felt awful. You knew it wasn't really your fault that all of this happened, but you felt like you were still slightly to blame.
"But then things got better when a new student entered the school." He said. You looked at him, trying to figure out who he was on about. Right as you got it, he confirmed your suspicion. "Kirumi Tojo, the Ultimate Maid."
"Oh, so that's how you two met." You said, sounding a little distant.
"Yes, she became well known as the 'mom' of the school. And she was a great friend to me. With her company, I wasn't as bothered by the opinions of others." He explained, smiling under his mask. He was obviously fond of Kirumi. You felt selfish for questioning her. She was the one who helped him. How could you be so iffy about her?
"Kiyo, I'm glad you met Kirumi and I'm glad she helped you." You sighed, wrapping your arms around him. He tensed up a bit, but eventually relaxed.
"I've noticed you are very... suspicious of her. Why is that?" He inquired. You let go of him.
"I was just... well..." You really didn't have an answer. Or at least one that you wanted to give him. Your eyes darted around your room in hopes of finding something to change the subject.
Suddenly, as if your thoughts had been heard, you heard Naoki yell "WHO WANTS SANDWICHES!?" from downstairs, followed by the rushing footsteps of your two other brothers.
"Hey Kiyo, do you want a sandwich?" You asked, getting up.
"I suppose I wouldn't mind one right now." He said, starting to get up. You headed downstairs and saw Naoki eating a huge sandwich.
"Oh, so you both want one? There should be enough for everyone, but you gotta make it (Y/N)." He said, taking another bite of the giant sandwich. You sighed in frustration.
"Why did you call us down if the sandwiches aren't made?"
"Because I'm a nice person, but not nice enough to make sandwiches for everyone. Duh." He said, walking out of the kitchen and doing a peace sign. Hiroya stood there, dumbfounded. He soon broke out of his confusion and started to make the most unstable sandwich of all time.
"Remind me to never let him become an architect." Toichi snickered as Hiroya attempted to take a bite out of the sandwich, the whole thing falling apart immediately. You turned to face Kiyo, who was calmly making himself a sandwich.
"H-Hey! I was supposed to do that!" You said, a little flustered. He smiled at you warmly.
"It's quite alright. You don't have to do it anymore, since I already made it." He laughed a little. You crossed your arms, pouting a little. Suddenly your stomach rumbled. "Perhaps you should make one for yourself. Or maybe I'll make it for you." He reached for the bread, but you grabbed it before he could.
"No way! You're not making me a sandwich in my house! I need to do it!" You said, sounding a little panicked. Hiroya and Toichi were in the doorway, laughing like this was the funniest thing they've ever seen in their lives. You shot them a death glare, and they quickly left the kitchen, still snickering. You began making yourself a sandwich with random toppings, but not random enough that it wouldn't taste good.
After sitting down in the living room with everyone and finally getting a bite of your sandwich, you looked over to Kiyo. He was sitting there with his sandwich, not even touching it. He noticed you looking at him and the sandwich.
"You're wondering if I'm going to eat it, aren't you?" He asked. You nodded awkwardly. He brought the sandwich close to his mouth, not removing the mask even for a second, and you blinked. Next thing you know it there was a bite mark on the sandwich.
"What the hell? How did you-"
"It's a secret." He winked at you, the confused look still clear on your face. You shook it off and continued to eat your sandwich.
"So, Kiyo. Did you like the induction day? (Y/N) loved it and she won't stop going on about it." Hiroya said, looking at you playfully.
"Hiroya, let the girl enjoy school while the feeling lasts." Naoki sipped his green tea. Where did he get that cup? He was holding a sandwich with both hands a second ago and not once did he leave!
"Boys, you asked a question. Let him answer." Your mother said, smiling at you and Kiyo.
"The induction day? It was rather eventful. Did (Y/N) mention the huge fire?" He said, taking another bite of the sandwich.
"Wait, there was a fire!?" Hiroya screamed excitedly.
"Why are you happy about that you fuckin' weirdo?" Toichi asked, half laughing.
"Language Toichi!" Your mother smacked the back of his head.
"Yeah, there was a fire started by a girl called Olivia. You would probably get on well with her, Hiroya." You snickered and Kiyo snorted, trying not to laugh.
"Why are you guys laughing? What's funny?" Hiroya asked.
"I don't even know." You laughed, almost dropping your sandwich.
"Wait... fire? Olivia? Don't tell me..." Naoki wondered. "Olivia Hart? Ultimate Arsonist? You've got to be kidding me... that girl is known for burning down the forest next to her old school!"
"Yeah, that's probably why her and Hiroya would be great friends. They're both capable and willing to do crazy shit for no reason." Toichi laughed.
"LANGUAGE!" Another smack. Suddenly you heard your ringtone from upstairs.
"Uh, I'll be back in a bit!" You said, running out of the living room and up the stairs. As soon as you got there, you noticed that it said 'Unknown Caller'. Who was this? You picked up quickly, bringing the phone to your ear.
"Hello?" You asked. No response. "Helloooo?" No response once again. "Is this some kind of joke?"
"Hello (Y/N)." You froze. That voice... no way...
