Double Take on Double Vision

I just look at the priestess as she comes closer to us, I glance over at Inuyasha. His gaze is directed towards her, and that's when I realized. It's Kagome, it must be her.

"Inuyasha I thought you got lost." A gentle voice says in front of us.

I snap out of my thoughts and I face forward again, She is standing right in front of us now, in such a short time, the whole scene in front of me changed.

"Who do you think I am Kagome? I'm a dog remember, I don't get lost and I can't get lost." Inuyasha says blowing a raspberry at Kagome.

"Sure." Kagome says rolling her eyes.

She then tuns her gaze towards me, her big brown eyes looks into mine and then I see her eyebrows lifting, her mouth slightly goes up into a gentle smile.

"Oh! It's you miss, from the cake shop, am I right? Do you remember me?" She asks me.

I blink, and nod my head. I give her a bow and a smile.

"Yes, I remember, Surprising that we met up again. It's nice seeing you." I say to her.

"Indeed, I didn't think I would see you again since this village is quite big. Thank you for the cake, I'm Kagome, may I ask your name?" She says.

"It was my pleasure, Nice meeting you priestess Kagome, I'm _____________." I answer her.

"Wait, so that cake was from you?" Inuyasha's voice booms next to me.

"Yea, I bumped into __________ at the cake shop, I got there late and the last cake was sold, it was sold to _____________. She kindly gave me the cake as to welcome me into the village. Such a beautiful and generous young lady, and I'm grateful to have met such fair woman." Kagome says with a smile.

"Thank you Priestess, please, I'm feeling embarrassed." I say feeling my cheeks burning up.

I glance slightly at Inuyasha, he is side looking at me with a raise eyebrow. I don't think he sees me as "fair". Then again, he didn't when we first met the first time either. Guess some things never change. I turn back to Kagome and give her a shy smile.

"Well, I best be going, it was nice meeting you, Inuyasha and Priestess. Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay." I say with a bow.

"We're actually going for dinner, would you like to join us?" Kagome quickly asks me.

"I don't want to ruin your peaceful dinner together, it's alright. Thank you for the invite." I respond back.

"It's dinner time anyway, you might as well tag along. It'll probably take ages to finish preparing dinner for yourself." Inuyasha adds.

Oh how I wish I can hit him, I need to let out some frustrations. I take a deep breath mentally and I just keep my mouth closed afraid I'm going to bicker with him. If only he knew how much I struggled when I didn't have my sight, it took me such a long time to prepare food for myself, but I managed.

"Well, Inuyasha could've have said something MORE PLEASANT TO THE EARS. But he's trying to say that you should join us, we would love to have some company with us in such an unfamiliar village. I would also love to get to know you, seems like Inuyasha and you are on friendly terms already, don't leave me out." Kagome says with a chuckle.

I can't help but smile, as I see her friendliness and gentle humour, she reminds me of Sango. Although middle to late aged, but they are still young deep down. Well since they both insisted, I think turning them down will sound rude now. I think I would also like to get to know Kagome as well, I want to know Inuyasha's past lover.
