Crimson Memories Among Emerald Grass

Quietness. I stare into Inuyasha's big golden eyes, they are like the bright sun in the clear blue sky. Our faces are mere centimetres from each other, I can feel his warm breath from his nose, his lips are slightly pink from the sudden crash. I wonder what I look like, I can feel my cheeks heating up, my heartbeat is beating fast and I can feel it through my ears.

"Uh..." I manage to mutter out.

Inuyasha blinks and props himself up and sits back, I lift myself off of the damp ground and I sit up. I can see his eyes wandering around and his ears shifting left and right. He then lifts his left hand up and slightly wipes his mouth. I feel a sudden tightness as I see that gesture from him, I lower my eyes to avoid seeing that.

"Watch where you are running, good thing I was here to lighten the fall. Are you always this clumsy?" Inuyasha asks clearing his throat.

"Well, it's not like I fell on purpose, the grass is covered in morning dew, these sandals can get slippery when wet. Besides, you took me by surprise." I grumble back.

"Well don't get startled so easily next time, it's not like a demon is going to get you or something." Inuyasha says as a matter of factly.

"Well sorry if I was too sensitive, I use to be always on my guard when I didn't have my sight, though although I can see again, I'm just configured to react in shock over surprises. What were you doing out here?" I ask him.

"I was out on a walk, and I happen to come upon this place, and I noticed you were up on the hill, I wanted to make sure it was you, so I...called out." Inuyasha mutters while scratching his head.

Out on a walk this early? Not really surprised, he did always wait for me back then. He wanted to make sure it was me? Was he worried? I can feel my heart lighten up slightly. I also find a bit of humour on what he said about "demons."

"Have you always been a morning person? Also, demons? Kind of ironic how I didn't meet any other demons except for you? Also we head butted each other, so does that count as an attack from you?" I say with a giggle.

Inuyasha turns slightly surprised, his eyes widen and his thick eyebrows rises. His mouth slightly stutters as he tries to have a comeback. How many times has he been.... stuck on something to say? How cute and precious. I smile at this adorable side of him, that I manage to see and lock into my memories.

"Well... I'm a half demon so I don't really count... Also... A bug was buzzing around my ears and woke me up, I decided to scout this area, so..." Inuyasha replies.

Alright, let's just go with that. Deep down I hope that he came looking for me when he noticed that I wasn't with them.

"What about Kagome? What is she doing right now? Why aren't you with her?" I ask him surprised.

Inuyasha scrunches his nose slightly and he looks around, he looks slightly confused? I tilt my head to see his face.

"Inuyasha?" I say his name.

"Oh... Kagome? She was still sleeping when I woke up. So I went on a walk to scout around and also I was bored." He responds.

"I see. You seem kind of lost in thought for a second there." I say pointing out his reaction earlier.

"Huh?" He responds.

"It was just when I asked about Kagome, you were looking around everywhere, and you looked like you were wondering about something? If there's something, do you want to talk to me about it?" I ask him.

"Tell you? I got nothing to talk to you about, besides it's not something that you can help with." Inuyasha says with a huff.

A sudden memory comes flashing back, it was that night when Inuyasha's demonic powers disappeared back at Sango's village. Although I didn't know what he looked like, but I knew he was vulnerable that night, luckily I was there to stay with him till the night passed. He opened to me that night as well after a while, and I'm grateful for that.
