"It says here that she is the blossom-princess and symbol of delicate earthly life. She is the daughter of the mountain god Ohoyamatsumi . She is often considered an avatar of Japanese life, especially since her symbol is the sakura (cherry blossom). Kono-hana is also the goddess of Mount Fuji and all volcanoes. Kono-hana became pregnant in just one night, causing suspicion in Ninigi. He wondered if this was the child of another kami. Kono-hana was enraged at Ninigi's accusation and entered a doorless hut, which she then set fire to, declaring that the child would not be hurt if it were truly the offspring of Ninigi. Inside the hut, Kono-hana had three sons, Hoderi, Hosuseri and Hoori." Inuyasha reads.
I listen to every single word with attention and the important words circles inside my mind. Is this goddess somewhere in the mortal realm?
"Do you think she may be here on earth? Or are there any kind of rituals to bring a deity to the mortal realm?" I ask Inuyasha.
"I'm not sure, but from the looks of it, who knows where she is now after what happened with her husband. Perhaps we can go back and see if Miroku has a way or knows anything." Inuyasha replies .
I nod my head and smile, knowing that there's a deity out there is comforting. I can hear Inuyasha close the book and get up. The rustling of his kimono is loud in the quiet space, I hear him walk away and then he comes back again after a few seconds . I feel large warm hands taking mine gently into theirs.
"Let's go , let's go find Miroku and see if he knows anything." Inuyasha says with confidence in his voice.
He pulls me up and guides us out of the space and into the openness. When I step onto the sandy ground, Inuyasha carries me onto his back and I wrap my arms around his neck, once again his long thick hair brushes against my arms. I can hear his breathing in front of me and the fluttering of his dog ears above me. His strong ams carries me as they hook around my thighs. I rest my cheek next to his.
"Today, all of this. Thanks Inuyasha for being my eyes and helping me whenever I need your help. I'm so grateful to have you in my life." I whisper next to him.
"And I'm grateful to have you in my life___________. I promised that I'd be your eyes from now on and I will for the rest of my life. Now let's go find this goddess." Inuyasha replies turning his head so that he can nuzzle his nose against my cheek.
I smile and hold him tighter. The wind soon picks up as Inuyasha dashes off back to the big hut. When we arrive, I can hear Miroku's and Sango's voice. I hear the curtains lifting and the two of us enter.
"Inuyasha,___________, you're back. That must mean you have found something." I hear Sango say.
"Yes we did, we found a goddess in the book that might be the one." I reply with a nod.
"And which goddess would it be?" Miroku asks.
"Konohanasakuya-hime." Inuyasha replies.
"Interesting, she's not a goddess that is talked a lot, so why did you choose her?" Miroku asks us again.
"She somehow stood out to me. She is the goddess and symbol of delicate earthly life, she seem to understand how precious each life is since she represents it herself. She is the princess of cherry blossoms, something so fleeting and beautiful and it requires one's sight to see such beauty. Cherry blossoms also symbolizes life itself, without sight, one may not see such elegance. With that in mind, I'm hoping that she can grant me a wish to have my sight back. She also has 3 sons who are all precious to her but were thought to be from an affair. So she went through a lot..." I explain to them.
"I see, it's the hope that she can come to understand you and how much you desire to want to live life to the fullest and being able to see the ones you love." Sango says slowly.
