A Paper Plane Carries Our Story

"Kagome." He says.

I blink pulling myself out of the moment,  I turn around and I see Kagome emerging out of the trees. I then remember something, I look back at Inuyasha, his eyes turning back down towards mine, and we both look down at our hands. We both let out a surprised realization and he quickly lets go of my wrist, and I pull my arm back towards my chest. We both clear our throat from the awkward skinship and we whirl around and smile as Kagome comes up to us.

"I heard a scream earlier and came bounding over, didn't realize it was you_________. Are you alright? Inuyasha, you look like you've seen better days." Kagome says stopping a few feet in front of us.

"Ya! We're fine." We both blurt out in unison.

I look at him and he looks at me, and our eyes hold each other in place. I didn't realize that I'm holding my breath, time seems to stop again. How I wish Inuyasha can see into my eyes and see all the memories that I have cherished between us.

"Well..., seems like you are both ok now, how about let's head back to camp and make our last sprint."Kagome says with a thumbs up.

She smiles and I smile back, she has a gentle smile and it seems to say something within it. She turns around, her long hair floats in the air, I take a step and Inuyasha follows. The three of us head back to camp, pack our things and head towards Sango's village. About 2 hours later, we finally arrive at the village. Inuyasha helps me down and goes to stable the horses, Kagome guides me into the village. Birds were flying in the air, wooden huts lines the village, people were out and about, I can see small shrines here and there, tall trees covered in luscious green leaves. I open my eyes wide as I take in the view of the village, I've never gotten to admire the beauty of this place, but now here I am. I want to see Miroku, Sango, and Shippo, it's been forever since I've see Miroku's face and I've never seen Sango and Shippo's face. I can feel my heart beat faster in anticipation, I remember that Konohanasakuya said that although Inuyasha may not remember me, but Miroku, Sango, and Shippo may. Sesshomaru remembers me, and that gives me hope.

"Well this is our village, I remember you saying that you've met our friend Miroku, let's go see if they are in the hut. Right this way, we can get some rest too." Kagome says taking my hand into her comforting ones.

"Sure." I nod.

Kagome guides us to a big hut with shrine decorations surrounding it. She lifts the curtain covering the entrance and I follow in after her.

"Sango, Mirkou, we're back!" Kagome calls out after entering.

I take a moment for my eyes to adjust in the darker room, when it does, I look around. I see a big fire stove in the back with twigs and wood piled beside it. I see a large wooden table in the centre of the room and mats on all sides, there are candles on ledges, silk blankets folded neatly and placed in a corner in the back right, and two windows on each side. It's pretty spacious, I remember when I spent time here with everyone, never really knew just how big and comforting this hut was. I do a full turn to see every angle and every corner.

"Hmm, looks like they aren't in, oh there's a note here." I hear Kagome say.

I look at her and walk up as she picks up a letter lying in the further left corner of the table. I read it with her after she opens it up.

"Dear, Kagome and Inuyasha,
We know that you are coming back today, but I have received an exorcism job a bit out of the region last night that requires me to leave today, since Inuyasha isn't present, I have taken Sango and Shippo with me to keep me company in case of anything happens along the way. Take care of the village for us in our absence, we should be returning in about 4 days time. Try not to argue too much with each other alright?
