Wack. Wack. Wack .Wack
I just kept throwing knife after knife at the already dented wall we used to practice our Wolf hunter skills. It made me feel powerful, so powerful that nothing could hurt me.
If only that were even close to the truth, after that revelation about my Brother came out. I just sat in my room completely stunned. Calum just sat there with me, trying to help in any way he could.
I eventually fell into a restless sleep that night, having nightmares about what my ancestor did that almost destroyed all of existence. And that place.
The ancient looking altar where the scepter belonged kept appearing. I tried to put my finger on any clues that could tell us where it was but to no avail.
I threw the last knife and it missed, I cursed and ran my hand through my hair. Where the hell was this place ?
"You ok ?"
I turned and saw Ashton watching me from the old stable my Dad said he was gonna renovate but didn't.
"Does it look like I'm ok ?" I said dryly.
He chuckled and walked up to the wall and grabbed a knife out of it.
"This wall tells me your not." He replied. "Look i know how shocking and hurt you must've been to find out your own brother made your home vulnerable."
"Of course it did !" I spat. "He knows what these people are and yet he gave them full access to our family !"
I calmed myself down before speaking again.
"I'm sorry.." I said. "It's not your fault my brother is an idiot."
Ashton shrugged seeming to not be bothered.
"Better to let it out anyways." Ashton replied. "You figure out where the scepter is suppose to be yet ?"
I shook my head.
"No... I got an image but I don't know how to unlock it.." I stated.
"I think I may know how." He said. "Do you trust me ?"
"Of course." I said and we went off to walk through the woods.
Apparently the woods made it easy to do memory rituals on wiccans. I don't know if it would work on me but I was willing to try.
We made our way into a clearing and we stood by a old tree stump. Ashton motioned for me to sit on it. I sat down and crossed my legs.
"Ok, this may seem silly but closing your eyes and meditating in the woods have always helped wiccans like yourself retrieve memory's that your mind is trying to bring to light." He continued.
I closed my eyes and tried my best to relax. I listened to the trees swaying in the wind and the birds chirping.
"Now think about this place you see." He said. "What surrounds it ? Any land marks ? Roads ?"
I felt myself calm and I started to picture the altar i seen. It was surrounded by similar trees that The Coven had around their hideout.
I looked around and I seen from about a mile down, stood the back of The Covens building. I recognized it from when I was in a haze and caught glimpses of the hideout.
"What do you see ?" Ashton asked. "Don't push yourself, just do it slowly."
I continued picturing it and the altar appeared, while it was barren now. It still had the rocks surrounding it and the middle still held the case the scepter was originally placed.
'I will lead you to it, just don't lose trust in me.' Someone said and I snapped out of it.
Ashton looked at me hopeful.
"I know where it is." I stated.
Later at the house, we were preparing to trek out and return the scepter back to where it belongs. Of course we had to start immediately in case Michael got wind that I figured out where it is.
I heard a knock at my door as I was putting on hunting gear, I turned and Calum stood in the doorway.
"You ready to do this ?" Calum asked me as we embraced.
I may have apprehensions about being able to do it but when I hugged him, that faded away.
"As long as you're with me." I smiled and we kissed delicately.
"Always." He said. " We're going to get it there and be done with Michael and his Coven for good."
We all piled into Dad's jeep, the location surprisingly was only a few miles out in the woods past the marshes.
"Do you think Michael is following us ?" I asked.
My Dad tensed at the wheel but kept his focus on the road.
"If he is, we'll be ready." Dad stated. "He isn't stopping us."
I leaned back and sighed, images kept appearing in my head of my ancestor going out of control with the power from the scepter.
It was glowing brightly the moment she touched it. I could see the power radiating off her body and how strong that power was.
An hour passed and we finally made it to where the Altar was. I could feel drawn towards the woods we would have to walk through to get to it. It was like it was calling to me.
My Dad stopped the car and unbuckled his seat belt. Everyone else did the same, Mom pulled out her hunting knife.
"Okay, so this is how we're going to do it." Dad said. "Calum and Luke, you'll go with Hailey. Ashton and Kaden will set up a distraction in case we come into some problems."
"Wait..." I said. "Kaden ?"
"Hailey I know you're mad at me but I want to fix this." Kaden replied. "I won't break your's or Mom and Dad's trust again."
We all get out of the car, weapons prepared. A howling made me jump from the distance.
"We better get going." Calum said, I nodded my head.
"Wait, Mom ? What are you and Dad doing ?" I asked.
"We will distract them." She said. "Just worry about that scepter."
I nodded my head and we rushed off towards the woods. I hoped we could do this.
