Me and Calum were once again on the run from the Warlock Coven. I sat in the passenger seat of yet another car Calum stole. My arm started to burn and I pulled up my sleeve to see a cut on my arm.

My mind flashed back to when that orb flew past me, I cover it back up and try to ignore it. Calum turns down the radio and glances at me.

"You alright ?" He asked with concern. "I know you're not but... I'm worried about you."

I look over at him and give him a reassuring smile.

"I'm as fine as I can be after all that's happened recently." I said, laying back again.

"I knew I shouldn't have left you there..." Calum said. "I could've got you all to safety but I was a coward and left.."

I looked at him and saw he was very upset, his brows were creased in a frown and his fists were turning white as he held the wheel tightly.

"Ever since I discovered I'm a werewolf, I've always been so wary of people and others of my kind." He continued. "My first instinct is to run when there is trouble."

"Calum, it's ok." I said, placing my hand on his shoulder. "You couldn't have known."

"But I should've." He insisted. "Now I know how desperate Michael is to exploit your powers, I'm not leaving your side again."

It felt good to know Calum wasn't going anywhere but I was worried about my brother and Luke. Are they ok ? Were they hurt or being tortured ? So many thoughts raced through my mind.

"Where are we going ?" I asked, a shiver ran down my spine.

"For now a hotel. We'll figure the rest out once we've gotten proper rest." Calum said.

Once we found a decent motel, Calum handed me the keys to the room and told me to let myself in so he could hide the car. My arm started to sting again but I ignored it.

Once in the room I nearly collapsed as I became lightheaded. I pulled my sleeve up and saw the small gash was looking inflamed. Oh shit... I tried to make it to bed but ended up collapsing on the floor.

My vision began to blur as I heard footsteps coming towards the room. It was becoming harder to stay awake as my vision became distorted.

"Calum ?" I shouted as the doorknob shook and I pass out just as the door opens.

Hours later.......

I opened my eyes slowly and saw I was lying on the hotel bed with a bandage around the wound on my arm. Calum was sitting in a chair next to the bed and when he saw I was awake he grabbed my hand and exhaled like he had been holding his breath.

"Hailey." Calum said kissing my hand. "Thank god you're alright."

"What happened ?" I asked, looking down at my bandaged arm.

"You were hit with one of Michael's specialties."

I looked up to see Ashton, the man from the bar coming out of the bathroom with a wet wash cloth which he handed to me.

"What are you doing here ?" I asked confused as I dabbed my forehead with the cloth.

Ashton of course went into a long explanation about me being hit by the blue flame, which apparently has paralytic abilities.

"Why did it effect her in that way though ?" Calum asked confused.

Ashton then pulled out a book and swiped through the pages until he found the one he was looking for.

"The Blue Flame paralyses mortals, but since Hailey here is of Psychic origin." Ashton started handing him the book. "It effected her in a different way, luckily I had the anecdote or she might have fallen into a coma."

I gulped are the mention of coma. My mind went back to my Dad and wondering how he is. Was he awake ? How was Mom ? Was my Brother and Luke alright ?

"Thank you, Ashton." I said. "It's good to have a warlock on our side."

Ashton smiled and took the book back from Calum.

"No problem. Now Calum told me how you were attacked at your house." Ashton said. "But from what I heard your parents had a ward up to keep Warlocks out of the house."

I gave him a confused look, my parents had a ward up ? This was news to me..

"Which means Michael must've somehow took it down." Calum adds.

"Which in order for him to do, he'd had to have found the spell your parents used and reversed it." Ashton continued, flipping through the book yet again. "Which your parents would've kept hidden, so someone from the inside had to have given it to him."

I didn't like where this was going...

"Are you saying someone we trust is double crossings us ?" I asked carefully.

"That's exactly what I'm saying." Ashton replied. "And whoever did must wish harm upon your family because the warlock coven is dangerous and will kill to get what they want."

Great... so someone I knew, that my family trusted. Was double crossing us and selling us to the coven ?

"So how do we figure out who the rat is ?" Calum asked and Ashton once again showed him a page in the book.

I looked over and it was a spell that you cast that will take you back in time to the exact moment the betrayal happened. But the only niche was that I had to cast it...

"It says I have to cast it though." I said warily. "At the location it was taken from.."

Calum slammed the book shut and handed it back to him.

"No way, if she goes back to a unprotected house they will catch us for sure." Calum said. "Isn't there another way ?"

Ashton shook his head sadly.

"I wish there was but she needs to be able to channel the energy of the person who did it and that can only happen where the exchange took place." Ashton stated. "Look we don't have to talk about it right now, just get some rest and I'll come back in the morning."

We agreed and Ashton left me and Calum alone in the room. Calum looked up at me and gave me that knowing look.

"Well we better get some rest. I'll leave you be.." Calum said about to leave the room but I grabbed his hand.

"Don't leave me." I pleaded. "Stay...please."

He sighed but got in the bed next to me and I wrapped my arms around him and put my head on his chest.

"I'm never leaving you again." Calum said. "Just get some rest."

I nuzzled closer and shut my eyes and I was out soon after.
