Once my Dad had redid the ward around our house, we breathed a sigh of relief in knowing The Coven wouldn't be able to get in.

Of course we had to figure out where to put the scepter so it be useless to the Coven but my Dad was having a hard time recollecting that information.

"It was a long time ago when I received this." My Dad said. "He just told me to put it in the lake and leave it there."

"There has to be something !" I stated, trying to see if there was anything I missed.

Of course Ashton was at work in his notes about basically everything we've discovered since embarking on this wild adventure.

"Hun." My Mom said, grabbing my Dad's arm. "Maybe we should tell them the truth.."

Me and Kaden looked over at them confused, what did she mean tell the truth ? My Dad sighed and ran his hand through his hair nervously.

"Dad, what's Mom talking about ?" Kaden asked.

He sat down across from us and took a deep sigh before speaking. I could tell what he was about to say weighed deeply on his heart.

"We've been secretly talking with the Alpha Wolf of the clan." He said.

Wait, what ? This was very odd considering how they discouraged us from being near any of them since childhood.

"We both have an end goal all the same." He continued. "To live in peace and not let The Warlock Coven destroy all that we've worked hard to recover."

Kaden got up seeming to not be able to hold in his jitters. I didn't blame him, I was also in shock.

"But Dad the Werewolves attacked you !" I said worried. "Why would you form an agreement with them ?"

"I'd like to know too." Kaden adds, Dad sighs but seems too tired to hide this any longer.

"The ones who attacked him were most likely rogue wolves." Calum said, my dad seem to nod his head in agreement.

"Calum is right." Dad stated. "The wolves in the pack steer clear of us and we of them. It's the rogue ones we hunt."

He looks at a scar on his arm and seems to shy away from it. A distant memory of him being injured years ago came to my mind.

"This isn't a bad arrangement." Ashton suddenly chimed in. "The Warlock Coven has always been greedy and dark, sure the Werewolves were too but times have changed."

He holds his palm out, looking at the Coven symbol that was slowly fading in the middle. I shuddered at the thought of Ashton ever helping those sleaze balls.

"We're gonna need all the help we can get to stop them from attempting to stop us from getting that scepter safely to where it belongs." He continues.

My Dad pulls out a map and it has a black dot in a specific spot in the Forrest. I suddenly was flooded with memory's of a robed figure holding the scepter as the world burnt.

The scepter gleamed from its spot, calling to me. As my Dad went on about how times have changed, I walked over and placed my hand on the scepter.

An image appeared of what I'm assuming is my ancestor holding the scepter, it glows in her hands. You could feel the power radiating off her.

"Stop !"

I turned and saw a man reverting from his wolf form screaming at her. He was battered with bruises and bodies lie around him.

She turned and I could see her eyes glowing with power, it was like she was glowing from within.

"Please ! You have no idea how much damage you're doing !" He pleaded. "This isn't you !"

He tried to step closer but then the vision cut off and a new one filled my eyes. One where my brother was talking with..Michael ?

"I promise no harm will come to your family." Michael said. "I just need access."

And my brother gave him the instructions to breaking the ward...

"Hailey ?"

My brother... he betrayed my family.

"Hailey ?"

He betrayed me.

"HAILEY!"

I snapped out of my brain fog and see my Dad trying to shake me awake. I looked around confused, the vision felt so real. It was like I was there.

"Hailey ? What happened ?" Mom chimed in, worry clear on her face.

"I had a vision about when the scepter was used.." I said still shaken up by it. "Dad was right, the wolves were trying to stop her.."

Everyone was silent for a moment.

"I also saw Kaden.." I said and then everyone was looking at him. "Talking to leader of the coven.."

Kaden looked nervously at us, guilt filling his eyes.

"Why would you talk to Michael ?" Calum asked. "Even after what he did to your sister ?"

I could tell he was mad, so I walked over and sat next to him to keep him from trying to kill my brother.

"I think this was before that happened." I replied.

"What happened Kaden ?" Dad asked. "Please tell me you didn't.."

"It's my fault they were able to break the ward.." Kaden said, the guilt visible on his face.

Why would Kaden help the coven for ? Finding this out was very strange because he seemed terrified of what they could do.

"He offered you something didn't he ?" Ashton said. "He gave you something and with that comes a price."

Kaden nodded his head slowly. I felt knots form in my stomach.

"What did he give you and more importantly, why would you accept ?" Dad demanded.

"He promised me he'd get me a stash.." Kaden said.

Mom shifted uncomfortably from where she was standing. I felt the disappointment in each movement. Kaden had sold himself.

"Promised you what ?" I asked, he swallowed before answering.

"Weed.." Kaden said. "But I regret it since the day I agreed ! I had no idea what he was capable of I swear !"

Dad rushed out of the room and mom went after him. Kaden mumbled something incoherent and went out the front door.

"So.... drinks anyone ?" Luke asked with dry humor.

Ashton got up and went out the front door as well. The mood had shifted from tension ridden, to completely unbearable.

"I'm going upstairs.." I said simply and rushed up to avoid any words.

I sat on my bed and not long after, felt the side of my bed dip as Calum sat next to me. Instead of saying anything, he just wrapped his arm around me and let me lean into him.

"I'm here." He said.

That was all I needed to hear.
