Mai look at herself in the mirror before fixing her messy hair. Today is the contract signing with the SPR. She had contacted her doctor and she agreed letting her work there after so much deliberation. She was reluctant at first but when Mai said they can help her with her abilities, she and the other army uncles agreed to this job.She was planning to tell the SPR about her abilities. She trust them-at least that is what her gut feeling tells her but she couldn't just tell them immediately, right? Mai wants to know them more and see if her intuition is really correct. Though her intuition is always correct, Mai is a bit hesitant on this one. She really want to know them more.
She couldn't contact her dad so she decided to tell him after he came home. She could just resign if he disapproved but Mai doubt it would happen.
She took her bag and the box on the table and ran outside after locking the door. The sky is clear today and had no signs of raining. The sakura blooms are in full bloom and it adds to the beautiful scenery before her.
Mai catched the train and checked her phone for any messages. Bou-san texted her the address of the office and that they are waiting for her there at this moment. Mai smiled at the warm and excited message and replied that she is already on the train.
A few moments later, she arrived and began to walk straight to where buildings lined just beside the sidewalk. Mai stopped in front of a five storey building and took the stairs leading to the second floor. Her honey-coloured eyes read the sign written on the door and smiled as she reached out her hand to twist the handle.
With the sound of the chimes indicating her arrival, all people inside the room appeared on the doorway and greeted her with a smile-well, except for three people. ( Naru, Lin and Masako)
"Mai! You came! Hurry up and take a seat!" Bou-san took the big box off her hands and pulled her towards the couch. Mai took a seat on Naru's right side and saw a folder on top of the table that is surrounded by sofas.
"I'm gonna read the contract!" Mai announced with a smile and opened the folder to read what is printed inside. Seeing how the contract is fair and agreeable with all the requests written, she picked up the pen and signed her name at the bottom part of the contract's last page.
"Done! Welcome to the club, Mai!" Ayako cheered and hug her.
"Welcome." Naru coldly said and took the contract away. Afraid that Mai will change her mind and tear up the contract.
"I am glad I have a companion in the office now!" Yasu said with a smile and handed her a paper.
"Please fill that up. I need that information to make you an ID. Your table is just beside mine." Yasu said and pointed at the table near the French windows.
"Okay!" Mai answered and filled the paper with the information it needed.
"Naru. I have my household registry, medical reports and other things that you might need." Mai said, turning her gaze towards her new boss. She handed him the papers but he didn't read it right away.
He look at the others who are cheering for Mai and sighed. He took out another set of papers and loudly threw it on the table, taking all the people's attention.
"We have a new case."
Everyone in the SPR stared at the newspaper laid on top of the table and simultaneously look at Yasuhara who is grinning at them like an idiot. Mai grabbed the papers and read through the file, not taking note of her co-workers' gazes towards the young man beside her.
