"I-I'm sorry!! I couldn't stop her! I'm sorry!" Masako sobbed as they gather around Mai's hospital bed.

After they left Lin and Yasu in the base, they rushed Mai to the hospital together with the injured students. She had been coughing blood on the way and there are large bruises on her shoulder and chest.

"Hara-san, tell us what really happened." Naru demanded as Masako calm her breath.

"I saw Tomoaki Sakauchi-san watching the scene so I tried channeling him when I suddenly entered a vision. In that vision, I saw Mai standing meters away from that boy. I don't know what happened but Mai suddenly turn her head behind her and stayed that way for a minute. It was like she is watching something before turning back to Sakauchi-san. Then I saw this black-colored entity slithering near the boy. Mai saw it too and run towards him to pull him away."

"But it was too late. That dark entity tried to gobble up Sakauchi-san but Mai was so adamant in saving him and tried to pull him. She didn't noticed the entity getting close to her. She had successfully pulled him out but that thing touched her. For some reason, the thing was pushed away by some force but Mai acted very weak after that. She took Sakauchi-san to a safe place and that was the end of th vision."

"That dark entity. What do you think it is?" Naru asked, taking note of what the medium offered to say.

"It is an evil spirit but I don't know how they had the capability of devouring their fellow spirit." Masako answered him.

"How about the force that pushes away that thing from Mai?" Ayako asked but Masako shook her head. She also didn't know what it is and how did that happen.

"Excuse me. I think I have read something like this before." John entered the conversation while raising his hand, making everyone turn to her.

"I have read a theory about astral projection from a researcher from Australia. I forgot the scientist's name but he said that some astral projector are prone to having injuries while astral projecting. It is said that if anything harm the projector in his/her astral state, he/she will also be injured in his/her body. He theorized that because an astral projector is still alive and has a body, the injuries are not directed to her soul but on their body. So basically, their body is the one protecting them from any harm while astral projecting and also the one that receives injuries while astral projecting. The researcher is also an astral projector so it is possible that he had formed this theory after experimenting himself." John explained to them.

"He also said that this thing only happened to some astral projector and it's very rare because it depends on how sensitive a person was. Do you think it is possible that at that time, Mai is astral projecting? That her soul is still attached to her body and that prevents that thing from devouring her? You also said that Mai started looking sick after that encounter so maybe being protected by her body had backfired on her, resulting to her to this state?" John asked making the others think.

"So you're saying that Mai is an astral projector and is very sensitive than other psychics who can astral project?" Ayako asked.

"I think so."

"I wonder if Mai knew about her this. She doesn't seem to have psychic abilities." Bou-san said while thinking.
