Chapter 14: Ghost in a Park?!

Nothing can anger Mai when she's in a good mood— a VERY good mood. Her eyes would be gleaming like stars and her lips would be stretched making her look like an idiot. Her feet would be skipping when she walk and she would sing a happy and sweet melody ALL day.

Whenever they see Mai like this in school, all people will be on high alert. Students will try not to meet her in fear of ruining her mood and Watanabe-sensei could feel a headache coming when he saw her like that. She would politely greet anyone she came across with and even if Watanabe-sensei scold her the whole lecture, she would still smile and say that the teacher is always right.

Even if he insult her intelligence and make her solve many problems, Mai would gladly comply and obey all orders with an absolute obedience. This made Watanabe-sensei so frustrated since he cannot provoked Mai like usual.

Mai, on normal days, always look so indifferent. Her face would be void of any emotion unless she is with her friends or someone pissed her off. The school was also shocked when Mai openly revealed that she is friends with the Ghost Freak, Kuruda. The students also was surprised when the happy-go-lucky girls of the 3rd years, Michiru and Keiko also said that they're friends with the School Witch.

It was like the end of the world when that happened after the Old school building case. Some criticized but Kuruda-san, Michiru and Keiko didn't care since Mai was there to beat the crap out of them. After a few weeks after the reveal, the three were feared even if Mai was absent. And these girls' background is not to be trifled with.

They may not look like it but they are crazy rich and their parents have decent high paying jobs. Keiko and Michiru just got bullied the first time they said Mai is their friend because those bitches didn't know their backgrounds. Mai was quite proud when they said she is their friend. Mai really love them. But this is not particularly the reason why Mai is in a VERY good mood today.

Naru is in a very bad mood today since he cannot finish his research on time. His editor keeps on bugging him about it and Lin also keeps on telling him how his deadline is near. This made him so mad and he needs his tea. Yasu is not here since his transfer paper are done and he is back to attending school and Mai is LATE AGAIN.

Naru doesn't know why she is always late but whether her reason is acceptable or not, he would still be pissed at her habit. Lin stared at his young boss for a moment and went straight to his office. His boss looks like an angry crocodile right now and he knew better than to talk to him and piss him further.

Naru stayed in his cave, facing his laptop the entire time until he heard the door of the office opened. Knowing that it's Mai, he once again let out a scowl and yelled in an annoyed voice.

"You're late, Mai! Make some tea!"

Naru was expecting Mai to make excuses or exhaust her vocabulary by insulting his mean attitude but this time, he didn't hear anything but a cheerful tone. Naru was taken aback by her honeyed tone.
