Draco's P.O.V:
I woke up groggily, feeling the stiffness from sleeping on the couch. I approached Granger.
"Hey, wake up," I ordered.
"What?" she mumbled, still half-asleep.
"Wake up. Come on, downstairs," I urged.
"Alright, I'm awake," she replied, rubbing her eyes.
"Did you sleep well?" I asked, trying to start a conversation.
"Yes, your bed is very comfortable. How about you? How did you sleep?" she inquired.
"Not too well. I'm still tired," I admitted.
"I'm sorry to hear that," she apologized.
"You should be. Now, if you don't mind, I need to change my clothes," I said, feeling a bit irritated.
"Yes, I'm sorry," she blushed.
Hermione's P.O.V:
I descended downstairs and sat on my bed. An elf approached me.
"Hello, Mrs.," the elf greeted me with a smile.
"Hello. What's your name?" I asked politely.
"Sandy. Would you mind coming with me?" the elf asked.
"Where are we going?" I questioned curiously.
"Just come," she said, offering her hand.
As we walked together, Sandy led me to the kitchen.
"Please, sit, madam," she insisted, pulling out a chair.
"Thank you," I smiled.
"Here, start eating, please," Sandy said kindly.
"But I can't. Malfoy would..." I started, feeling a pang of fear.
"Malfoy would what? Punish you?" I heard Malfoy's voice behind me.
"You can go. All of you," he ordered the elves, who promptly disappeared.
"What? Aren't you going to start?" he asked, looking at me expectantly.
"I'm just surprised. You never served such a lavish meal before. The table is full of fruits and delicious dishes. I feel like royalty," I said, trying to be polite.
"Then eat and stop talking," he ordered brusquely.
"Thank you, Malfoy," I replied, beginning to eat hungrily.
"Slow down," he instructed.
"I'm hungry, Malfoy. I don't get to eat like this every day," I explained. "Why all this, Malfoy? Is someone coming?" I asked cautiously.
"Yes," he replied shortly.
"Your parents?" I asked, a bit nervous.
"No, someone you don't know," he answered.
"Oh, is it a girl?" I asked, curious about his personal life.
"None of your business. Now, if you're finished, go to your room and stay there," he said, dismissing me.
"Malfoy, can Sandy stay with me?" I asked, hoping for some company.
"Why?" he turned to face me, looking slightly annoyed.
"I don't want to be alone," I said, trying to be honest.
"Alright, I'll allow it. But behave," he warned before leaving.
"Thank you,"
As I entered my room, Sandy appeared on my bed.
"Mrs., Mr. Malfoy ordered me to stay with you," she explained.
"Yes, thank you, Sandy, for being here," I said gratefully.
"Yes, no problem. Besides, everyone is busy today, so I prefer to stay with you," she said with a smile.
"I heard someone's coming," I said, wanting to know more.
"Yes, a guest for Mr. Malfoy," Sandy confirmed.
"Who is it? A woman?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.
"Yes, Astoria Greengrass. Mr. Malfoy's fiancée," she informed me.
"Malfoy is engaged?" I exclaimed, surprised by the news.
"Yes, they've been together for about a year now," Sandy said.
"He must be in love with her? why does he always laugh when I talk about love then ?" I asked, feeling a bit hurt.
"What?" Sandy looked confused.
"Is he truly in love with her?" I asked, wanting to understand his feelings.
"Of course, yes," Sandy replied confidently.
"Good, that's good for him," I said, trying to convince myself. But deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment.
Draco's P.O.V:
"Hello, baby," Astoria greeted me with a kiss on the cheek.
"Hello, Astoria," I smiled, feeling a bit distracted. "Come, take a seat," I invited her to sit at the table.
"Thank you," she smiled, looking around. "Thanks for all this," she said appreciatively.
"So?" I prompted, eager to hear her news.
"I have something to tell you," she said, excitement in her voice. "They accepted me. I'm officially a teacher," she announced proudly.
"Congratulations," I smiled, reaching for her hand.
"Thank you. Where are your parents?" she asked, taking a sip of her drink.
"Busy with work," I replied, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
"I wanted to tell them," she said, a hint of disappointment in her voice.
"I'll inform them later," I assured her, trying to sound reassuring.
"Should we make plans to go out sometime?" she suggested, changing the subject.
"Why not? Yes," I agreed, trying to focus on the present.
"The food is delicious," she complimented, trying to engage in small talk.
11:00 PM:
Hermione's P.O.V:
I tried to sleep, but my mind was restless. Thoughts of Malfoy kept swirling in my head. Why was I thinking about him? Why did his engagement bother me?
"Did you manage to sleep?" Malfoy's voice interrupted my thoughts as he entered the room.
"I couldn't," I admitted, feeling a mix of frustration and confusion.
"Why? Thinking about someone?" he teased, a hint of amusement in his voice.
"Not Weasley, if that's what you're implying," I replied, turning to face him.
"Another person then?" he probed, his gaze searching mine.
"Did your fiancée leave?" I asked, wanting to divert the conversation.
"Yes, who told you about her?" he questioned, looking slightly surprised.
"You said you were unsure about love," I reminded him.
"I didn't say that. I asked," he clarified, his expression guarded.
"Is she beautiful?" I asked, unable to stop myself.
"Why do you want to know? Feeling jealous?" he teased, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Jealous? Of course not," I retorted, feeling flustered.
"Maybe you're developing feelings for me," he joked, his tone playful.
"Goodnight, Malfoy," I said, dismissing him, unable to hide my annoyance.
As he left, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Why did he always have to provoke me? And why did his engagement bother me so much?
