Draco's P.O.V:
I selected a book from my room and made my way downstairs to give it to Granger. However, as I descended, I heard some commotion below. Rushing to investigate, I found the Mudblood conversing with an elf.
"What are you doing here?" I demanded, glaring at the elf. "Go back to your duties!" I shouted, causing the elf to scurry away in fear.
"Making friends, Granger?" I asked, entering the room.
"Why do you have to be so rude? What did he do to you?" she snapped angrily.
"I'm his master, and he has to obey me. Besides, what was he doing here?" I deflected, avoiding her angry gaze.
"I called him. You shouldn't do that. And why do you think you're a master?" she retorted, her frustration evident.
"Everyone knows that I am," I explained dismissively.
"Ha, not me," she joked, her tone laced with bitterness.
"And who asked for your opinion? You're just a Mudblood, and no one cares about your point of view," I retorted harshly.
"Yes, I almost forgot who I am. Thank you for reminding me, Pureblood," she said sadly, her voice betraying her hurt.
"And now you're going to cry because of that?" I teased callously.
"Will you please leave?" she asked, her tone heavy with sadness.
Hermione's P.O.V:
"Will you please leave?" I demanded, feeling a surge of sadness at his cruel words. Why did it still hurt every time he called me Mudblood? I should be used to it by now.
"I'm not happy to see you either, Granger. I only came to bring you some food so you won't starve, and the book," he said coldly, showing no remorse for his actions.
I couldn't believe he didn't feel sorry for what he did. How could he be so heartless?
"Oh, it looks like a romantic book," I faked a smile, trying to hide my inner turmoil.
"And what do you know about romance?" he sneered with disgust.
"The same as you know about love, if you know what love means? And I doubt you understand its true meaning," I retorted, trying to mask my pain with sarcasm.
"Tell me, what is love then?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.
"It's when you feel like you can't live without the person you love, when you're willing to sacrifice everything for them, when you stand by their side and protect them with all your heart... Not just chasing after girls and having fun with them, Mr. Heartless," I teased, unable to hold back my emotions.
"You make me laugh... Love is when you protect the one you love and blah, blah, blah... You're pathetic," he scoffed dismissively.
"Give me the stupid book and leave, Malfoy. Please don't come back. I don't want to see your face," I ordered, my anger boiling over.
"Do not forget yourself, Granger. It's my house, and I do as I please," he spat, his disgust evident.
As Draco exited, I couldn't hold back the tears any longer. I didn't want him to call me Mudblood again, and I didn't know why, but I felt something different.
Draco's P.O.V:
I lay on my bed, trying to shake off the encounter with Granger. She was incredibly irritating, and I couldn't stand her presence any longer. But her words about love lingered in my mind. Was that what real love felt like? Had she ever experienced it? Why did I even care? I sprang up suddenly, a strange urge compelling me to ask her about it. I didn't know why, but I needed to find out.
