Our lips let go from eachother and I stared at her eyes.

"Jay," she said

"I'm so sorr-" she grabbed my collar pulling me back to her lips

We kissed under the fireworks as everybody yelled happy new year.

Your POV

I couldn't stop thinking about the kiss.

Does he like me back?

I didn't ask him yet tho..

Should I tell him?

I walked down the hallway as I saw a familiar figure leaning their back in one of the lockers

"Hi!" I said

His eyes widened after making eye contact and looked away

"So, I want to talk to you later after school, do you have anytime?" I asked him

"Uhmm..maybe..I don't know? I'll try!" He said and the school bell rang

"See you after class" I said as I waved him goodbye

Jay's POV

"What were you thinking??" Heeseung hyung was furious

"I don't know, the words slipped out of my mouth.." I said

"You are not a smooth talker, man. Did you already ask her out?" He asked

I slowly shook my head and he let out a big sigh

"Dude, just don't tell her quickly, you might confuse her. Tell her that it was just a tradition." He said and I agreed

"Okay. I'll talk to her."

I sat down in one of the nearest coffee shops in our school

It's about to rain, did she bring an umbrella?

I saw Y/n coming a bit wet from the rain and I took a deep breath and smiled

"Hey, Y/n!" I waved

"Hi! Sorry for the wait I had to pass my research project." She said

"It's fine. Here, use this." I hand her my handkerchief

"Thanks." She said and started wiping her face

She lifted her hair and turned it into a bun

Strands of her hair were dangling from ear to ear.

How am I even friends with a girl like her?

I stared at her for a moment as she talked about what she did at Arts Period

"And I was painting a rose and suddenl- Jay? Jayy? Jay!" She lightly slammed the table

"I'm sorry! Blacked out!" I said and she made a concerned expression

"What's wrong with you today? You've been acting weird lately." She said

"Uhm, I want to talk to you about something." She realises what I said

"The kiss?" She asked and my eyes widened

"Y-yeah! About that well....it meant nothing..."

"What?" She said and her expression turned from being happy to upset.

Did I do something wrong?

Why is she upset?

"We're still friends right?" I asked her and she nodded

Your POV

"Y-yeah! About that well....it meant nothing... it's just a tradition. Right?" As I heard those words come out from his mouth my heart sank

This is not what I imagined, I thought he was going to ask me out..I really thought there was something during the incident

"I mean don't get me wrong, you kissed me back as well. Do you like m-" I cut him off

"Uhm! Like you said it's just a tradition!" I laugh slowly

"Oh, We're still friends right?" He asked and I nodded

"Ofcourse! Why would I not be friends with you?? I understand, it's just a tradition." I said and stood up

"Where are you going?" He asked

"Going home, you coming?" I asked him

"Oh okay." He stood up and slung his bag behind him

We walked for about 20 minutes, we were both silent, and couldn't even have the courage to say a single word

I looked at my right as I slowly kick the pebble infront of me while walking.

This is so awkward.

Should I say something?

Should I tell him how I feel?

"Uh.." I quietly said but he suddenly stopped

"We're here." He said

I looked up and my house was already infront us.

"Oh, thanks for walking me." I said

"No problem." He smiled

"See you tomorrow." I said

"See you.." He said as I walk to my door

"Y/n, wait." He said

Jay's POV

Walking for about 20 minutes felt like walking for 2 hours.

I looked at her and she was playing with a pebble, I smiled and noticed we were already near her house.

Should I finally tell her how I feel?

What if she'll say no?

C'mon dude focus!

I noticed she was trying to say something but I cut her off saying we arrived.

What the heck dude??? You could've just let her say something??? What if she said she liked you??

"Oh, thanks for walking me." She said

"No problem." I smiled

"See you tomorrow." She said as she opened the gate to her house

"See you.." I said, she was about to step in her house but,

Now's your chance!

"Y/n, wait." I said

Your POV

"Ye-" before I could continue speaking I felt someone's lips on mine

He kissed me the second time.

He immediately removed himself from the kiss

He turned himself around and started mumbling

"Oh no! I shouldn't have done that! I'm so annoying!" He said and I laughed

He realized I was still standing behind him and he turned around.

"I'm so sorry, Y/n. I shouldn't have done that, it's because I-" I cut him off kissing him back

I stopped and looked at him

"I thought it was a tradition?" I laugh

"Uhh I- I" he stuttered

"I like you too." I laugh and he smiled widely

"You do??" He asked

"Do I look like I'm kidding?" I asked him

"But I thought-"

"Just shut up and kiss me" I whisper and slowly grabbed his tie to let him move closer

Finally, after 2 years. From being bestfriends, turned into lovers completes the whole story.

Let's just say, I finally found my happy ending.
